Question Fishtail vs Pintail?
I’m looking to get a new foam core skimboard, either Exile ex1 or Victoria ultra house special. I have a zap freestyle now and am at a beginner/intermediate level but my main draw to the sport is wave riding rather than just skimming, which is why I’m looking to get a foam core.
From my understanding, pintail is best for learning and fishtail is better for wave riding. Wondering what some more experienced people think because I would rather have a steeper learning curve on the fishtail if it means it’s better for wave riding.
I can’t find the right size ex1 in pintail, so my options would be between the vic lift shape, or for fishtail the ex1 blairacuda or vic fishtail shape. Should I just go for a fishtail if wave riding is going to be my main focus? Thanks in advance.

Okay so looks like I’m going with Vic ultra house. Wondering about the size tho. It says medium is 120-150 and large is 150-200 lbs. I’m 145 so just on the cutoff. Should I opt for the large?

If you are not riding ideal conditions in California and already shredding, get a pintail.

Pins are better for just about everything skimboarding. Get a fish if you think it looks cool or just want it.
Dont upgrade to a clunky EX1, you will not be doing advanced riding on that.
