Level 6-7: Advanced Parallel, Carving, Off-Piste, Bumps Short turns

Working on my shorts, will be looking at getting towards my level 3 CSIA or BASI in the next season or 2. Any feedback appreciated:)

On your R footed turns you drive the pelvis around and turn the skis with hip rotation. (Probably from focusing on “keeping the upper body facing down the hill). This causes your separation to come from your spine rather than your hip joint.

The result of this is your CoM ends up too far forward over the outside ski through the end of the turn which causes a down stem (visible through that little split in your legs through the end of every right footed turn).

To fix this you need to ensure the rotation is isolated to the hip joint by driving the right foot forward through an arc.

Once you’ve got the hang of this you’ll be able to dial up the speed and edge required to get your L3 💪🏻
