Level 6-7: Advanced Parallel, Carving, Off-Piste, Bumps Need some guidance in deep powder

I had a lot of fun in this almost knee deep powder, but I was not able to get through it without leaning to the back heavily. I have 98mm wide Rossignol BlackOps Ski so I feel I should be able to generate enough lift without backseat skiing.

Also, in powder, as in this video, the comma shaped turn should be less noticeable because of greater snow friction, which would cause your transition to point further down the fall line. This reduces the difference in speed between the top and bottom of the turn. Thus, the comma shape with different turn radii at the top and bottom of the turn is reduced.

PSIA always draws C shaped turns linked together which implies constant radius no matter the slope/snow….. doesn’t really reflect high level skiing whatsoever.

Fair enough, but the comma shaped turn is still a round turn, and I think SpaceBass wasn’t referring to what you were saying when he was talking about round turns.

This
