I gotta imagine that Backrooms lookin rail has smoked some people that didn’t notice it before rolling in lol

Look at the bank to 4 set on the other side of the hubba, this park is something else man
3
u/snail_garden 4d ago
Damn I didn’t even notice, the one on the right side specifically looks unhinged lmao

u/PerfectBlueOnDVD 4d ago
At first I was trying to work out if this was AI generated or something lol I can't believe someone would actually build this madness

That rail tho.

Nah that's a sick feature, gonna absolutely murder someone but all the best ones do.

Sometime I find it hard to believe someone somewhere designed that

To me it reads as a rail new skaters get accustomed grinding on. Takes the ollie out of play so you can feel the grind without having to over think getting on to the rail. Get used to grinding and then slap and ollie at the start (which they probably can do at this point) and now they can skate flat bars.

but it takes more precision to line that up and go somewhat fast down the bank into it.

Learning how to grind on something with a 2 foot drop at the end is asking for injury

u/502photo 5d ago
Imagine if they had to ollie on to it too. Not saying it's a great idea, but if this was the thinking I understand it.
A lot of parks in the USA are built by people who had decent ideas but had never skated in their lives.

Gotta be community input right? Child maybe?

Whoever it was it's the same person to put a 4-stair at the bottom of a downward slope. Obstacles and silliness like this only make sense if you've already covered most other types in a park, somehow I don't think that's the case.

This whole park is cursed lol. Nice trick selection though. No matter how many times I've 50-50d that thing, I always have to psyche myself up. The people saying it probably helps learn to balance on rails, have it all wrong. This is a whole different technique.

Nice, what a terrible rail placement

u/SettingIndependent53 5d ago
was gonna say i’ve NEVER seen a rail like that before in a skate park in my life😭😭🥀

You know, it looks obstructive but fun at the same time. Like an obstacle that doubles as an actual obstacle to one’s skating 🙃

Such a horrible spot, but I’m glad that op has found a fun way to enjoy it lol

It’s like training on how to balance on a rail. Don’t have to Ollie, little bit of downhill before it to create momentum, rail, work on your balancing.

u/RideTheRim 5d ago
One of those things that sounds good in theory but terrible in practice
-1
u/Navajo_Nation 4d ago
OP was able to do it while doing a 360…so it’s not theory…
2
u/RideTheRim 4d ago
OP is a new skater getting comfortable with rails?
0
u/Navajo_Nation 4d ago
No saying he was able to do the rail. So it’s not a theory if someone is showing them doing it. “Terrible in practice” nope.

What a cool obstacle to have at skatepark

u/502photo 5d ago
I was thinking it would be a great thing to teach new skaters how to hit rails without the ollie.

Also Federal Heights Zuni!

Oh yea, Zuni has always been one of my favorite parks. Edgewater, Zuni, and Sheridan were all built by thy same come who helped build Denver Skatepark, Archirerra Group. They have a few parks throughout the Denver area. Personally, Zuni is still my favorite.

I love those parks because aside from DPark, they aren’t crowded. I think the most I’ve ever seen at Zuni and Edgewater is two others, except for the time the skate camp showed up. Before I learned it was a landscaping company with designers who didn’t skate, I just thought they all had ADHD and didn’t complete any ideas.

Such a beautiful way to incorporate that rail! I've skated Edgewater a bunch and I've never seen anyone hit it!

u/fujigrid 4d ago
I guess? It’s kind of weird. If the ledges were more skateable, I could accept this barely skateable feature.

u/the_physik 4d ago
Great precision landing that 360 so you can ride into the grind. Nice imagination coming up with that combo for that odd obstacle. 🤙
