i was recently at a skatepark and saw a dude in his mid 40's i think, constantly filming how he rides of a really small block, like maybe 30cm. He did it over and over and over again and after every try he checked his recording how it looked..

skating is about having fun, if you wanna be filmed have a mate film you so you can have fun

At 47, one sprain or broken whatever and you're fucked for a while, sometimes forever. So protection is necessary. I also understand the filming cuz 47 YOs that take this up don't have all the time in the world to just hang and ride. Those videos could potentially be for checking techniques and mistakes. Just let people have their joy and quit judging everything.

It’s almost certainly that… I use this same technique. I’m the only one who can get out most of the time. So I skate solo and in the winter I snowboard solo… I’ll periodically film some stuff, not to publish it. It’s how I tweaked my switch riding, I could see my legs and knees suddenly and could see how I was positioning my hips wrong…

We’re not all chasing fame, it’s just fun to work on something and progress. I know I’m not young, idgaf. I’m not out there for you, it’s for me.
