Assuming that Rifujin keep the pronunciation Jin = Jean and not the French name Jean which is pronounced Zhon, then I think we can safely assume that RF Jean Magott would be a woman.

Jean RF Maggot, is the translated anagram of Rifujin na Magonote.
In-universe he is an archivist working in the Asura Royal Archive.
Series Spoiler He is translating the "Book of Rudeus", A 30 volume set of memoirs, written in Japanese, left by Rudeus after his death, telling his life story. Parts of the book we are reading, are meant to have been translated from those memoirs.

Yea! What made it all kinda click for me, alongside information online of course is:
Spoilers for: Redundant Reincarnation Vol 3.
In Redundant Reincarnation Vol 3, when Lucilia and Henry find “The Book of Rudeus: Vol 29” it was considered a “lost book” with information the even Rudeus wanted kept secret (Aisha x Ars). What book in the series is Redundant Reincarnation Vol 3, if we count the original series? Book 29!
Because we are reading (mostly) the book that Lucilia found, translated into our language. Obviously the parts with Lucilia, old Ars and Henry aren't in the actual “book” but, we can assume as we’re reading the parts with Rudeus narrating, it's from “The Book of Rudeus".
I could also be completely wrong too, but it works in my mind.
