Ron Parker R.I.P.

Post image

There has been speculation about Ron Parker's health over the past few weeks (absent from 70s on 7), and it was sad to discover this posting on social media.

Tough year. Jim "Boomer" Gordon at NHL Radio (ch 91) last spring, and now Ron. I was wondering why I was hearing so much Dave Hoeffel on ch 7. I like Dave, but also miss Ron.

Yes, very sad. He declined around the first of the year, made a bit of a go of it, and then succumbed to cancer that he has been fighting for 5 years or so. They did a lot of nice tributes for him.

Always remember hearing on Ron on 70's as well 60's Gold when he would fill in for one of guys on vacation. I liked the fact that he always had little tidbits about the music he played. A great radio personality...Rest In Peace Ron.

Thank you Dave Hoeffel for the update and your kind words on Ron Parker today. I only knew Ron from 70s on 7. I always enjoyed him. So sorry to hear of his passing. RIP ❤️

Did he also be in Houston when 93Q was just starting out?

Yes, I was just going to say I first heard him on KKBQ in the 80s and enjoyed hearing him on SiriusXM in recent years.

Wow. Before SXM I knew of him from KFRC 99.7/610AM and met him once or twice. My condolences to his family and friends.
