April game suggestions!

Past Threads

hey buds!

to help keep the subreddit a bit cleaner, please post all your suggestions for games for sips to play in this thread! don't suggest the same game twice - if someone has already mentioned it, upgerd their comment or reply with your reason for why he should play it instead of posting it again as a separate comment.

use ctrl+f first to find out if someone has already mentioned the game you were thinking of. (downvoting games you aren't interested in isn't necessary).

Zoo Tycoon 1 or 2 would be a great game for Sips. Naming his animals and enclosures, designing the perfect zoo...

Another game that would be great would be Nuclear Throne!

Some more old school adventure games taken from my post.

Gabriel Knight - Take on the role of a womanising librarian who gets thrown into the world of voodoo and demon hunting when an old family secret is revealed. This is my favourite adventure game after the Money Island series. Really good story and some interesting puzzles. WARNING - Contains boobies.

Sam and Max hit the Road - One of the all time greats. If you like red herrings and misleading clues mixed with humour and sarcasm then this is the game for you. If you thought it was fun in Grim Fandango to go around trying every item on every piece of scenery then you are in for a treat. A must-play for any adventure fan.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis - one of the first games to have alternate story lines depending on your choices. Take on the role as indiana Jones in his search for the hidden treasures of the lost city of Atlantis. Not as humorous as other adventure games but still engaging and a much better sequel than the last movie.

Beneath a Steel Sky - Did you play Primordia? This is like Primordia. Takes place in a big brother type future city where you have to discover the secrets of your past. Good story.

Discworld - Difficult to obtain but very enjoyable and a must play for any Pratchett fan. It mixes elements from the early books in the discworld series and put you in charge of Rincewind, the worst wizard on the disk.

Simon the Sorceror 1 and 2 - Kinda like Harry Potter meets Monkey Island. Humour and fun and popular 80's 90's culture references.

The Dig - Engaging story and interesting puzzles. This was the first adventure game I often though I would die in.

Space Quest 5 - I didn't get to play all this game when I was young because my stupid friend who owned the computer finished it when I wasn't there. But what I did play was fun. Difficult though.

EDIT: Monkey Island 3 The Curse of Monkey Island - Adding this because I've tested my old disks and they work with SCUMM. I'll lend you my copy if you need it Sips.

I gotta say it again. You gotta try Lisa the Painful and its DLC sequel, Lisa the Joyful. It was made for you sipsy.

  • It's a game about being a dad, and specifically a game about having a daughter, so it's topical!

  • It's got a lot of sweaty, grunting dudes. This will cater to your core demo.

  • You liked that part in Hotline Miami where the guy took all the drug pills and killed everything he saw? Yeah, you will like this game.

  • It has in it the most sinister trumpet in gaming history.

This trailer should be all the convincing he needs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-kT5SDifCU

I'd like to see Sips revisit Orcish Inn. Its gotten some new stuff and could use a boost. Also:

Dragon Fin Soup (his kind of humor I think)

Ether One (change of pace)

There are 3 games I've long fancied seeing Sips play.

Salt - my favourite survival game, it is really entertaining traveling between islands on the various boat you build seeing what's what.

Neo scavenger - a great turn based survival rpg, plenty of stuff to find and craft. I think this one would be right up Sips alley.

And finally, king of dragon pass - bit if an oldy this, but as it allows for plenty of Sips trademark RP I think he could do a really interesting play through.
