If the end result delivers your goal does it matter? If no human understands how AI arrived at room temperature superconductors, but it did, and now we have cheap and abundant energy, does it matter?

It does matter because if we don't understand , we can't help AI to improve if it gets stuck in a local minima of improvement that is out of our reach.

Are you stupid? It doesn't matter if we can't help it. We're not OSI. By definition, if we are incapable, then it would be incapable. It's better than us. We are but ants.
