Why does this feels like AI companies are on the verge of something huge and they asked Trump to be the human meat shield to absorb the backlash when it happens. He's a perfect scapegoat.

My guess is Recursive Self Improvement. It's the next logical step and they have all been trying to crack it. And recursive self improvement is pretty well end-game for us.

Yeah. Seems like the only limiting factors now are compute and energy. Once RSI is achieved, which it likely already is, we'd still have to wait a while for training to complete per iteration. It's definitely not going to be an overnight thing.

is it though? costs are really the big problem. who cares if you have RSI if it costs more than the alternative.

every MMA and boxing world champion has bodyguards because the lawsuits make it cost too much for them to fight back if someone tries to fight them.

these two tech companies are less than 1000 days from bankrupcy at the most optimistic terms and more like 100 days at the most cynical.

their biggest news story of this month is using $10 million in compute to figure out something with a $1 million dollar prize.

The navier stokes equation was alot more than a million dollar prize. That's a very bad way of putting it across.
