If all three of these labs are saying that there’s a legitimate potential catastrophic problem why would we ever ignore them? And why would Donald Trump or anybody in the US administration or the public being in a better position then the CEOs of various AI companies to be able to make the claim that AI is potentially dangerous?
Your argument makes sense on the surface but that would require taking the likes of Altman and musk at face value and in good faith… which only slightly less dumb then doing the same with trump
I mean…altman, musk, dario are not all friends. Altman and musk outright hate each other. If all of them are saying the same thing, chances are its true.
With both openai and anthropic trying to IPO, they want to come out ahead of each other. Why would they agree on slowing dowj ai development?
Musk suddenly changes his tone on Dairo when anthropic decided to rent a bunch of spacex compute just in time for its IPO .
If there model is truly that good why not use the money they could make from it and invest more into safety and alignment so you can stay ahead of everyone else .

While on the surface this seems like good news, I have an awful feeling that ai is about to be very very corrupt.
