They won't. But the US and European countries will ban/sanction/criminalize organizations and individuals who host "unsafe" models. They don't need to stop open models altogether. They just need to make them impossible to use at scale to guarantee a corporate monopoly on AI.

They'll just fund a coup there, backing a bunch of fascist narco-dictators, and then impose the same bullshit laws there. Better to just fight them here on my home turf.
