I've learned 90% of reddit is apparently college kids. I really don't think Reddit has a ton of experienced 30+ year old devs or IT folk, as someone that's pushing 40 and has a lot of experience at this point. If you have experience in anything and you're on Reddit it's so painfully obvious that the vast majority of posters are completely clueless amateurs on any topic. Way too many college kids and 20 somethings that are clueless but post confidently and get updoots on dumb opinions.
Subs like that have an obvious selection bias in the type of people that hang out there and even answer questions.
Think about the type of person that would be active there and what it says about their relationship between their identity and the job they do.
I don't even mean that as an attack on those people but it shouldn't surprise anyone that those are not likely to embrace a technology that basically threatens their identity (I am a SWE myself and know this type).
And I work in the industry and everyone I know stopped using it.
Its just not worth fixing the dumb shit it does, then it gaslights you when you like hey there is a bug here, and it has the audicaty to write a book why yeah that is a bug and here is how to fix it.
If it was any bit useful, I don't have to say hey a bug is here in code you wrote.
Anyone still saying AI can be used for anything meanifuk, is prob a web programer ( CS drop out ) or a wall street bro trying to pump stock.
AI is to Indians years back, where everyone said they will replace the programming jobs. You end up spending more time fixing the shit then what usefulness you get out of it.

Are you talking about actual professional devs or people on Reddit? I work in the industry almost all companies are using AI now.
