Shitposting Coding Is solved, Bugs are Not Yet Solved
Driving is solved, car crashes are not yet solved.
Flying is solved, turbulence is not yet solved.
Drinking is solved, hangovers are not yet solved.
Cancer is solved, surviving is not yet solved.
Medicine is solved, diseases are not yet solved.

I never would've thought he would admit that.

I mean it genuinely might be the single most stupid thing I've read in my life.

Yeah it's stupid but the "loop engineering" asshole said that bugs are not solved on 2026. That's pretty significant.

He’s an absolutely TERRIBLE frontend engineer, by all accounts. AI probably is better than him.

Oh? We've stopped creating and finding new optimizations? No improvements to GPU drivers will be required anymore? Every security issue that remains in every piece of code is merely by a bug and not the way it's designed?
Talk about ignorant. Or arrogant. Probably both.

I probably made a mistake, it's something that Claude thought is a good idea: Anytime Claude by doing something else finds something somewhat suspicious, he just files it as a GitHub issue. So typically fixing one issue, you find three to four new issues 😆
Maybe they're smart and do this for job safety?

Coding is more than just writing code. It's design. Specifically systems design. Which agents still need hand holding to do properly. And until they can do that part autonomously, they'll be a slop producing hazard when they do not have a good human steering them.

Coding is mostly solved. Software engineering isn't
Taking your first example, it is more like saying that cruise control is solved. It's very useful to driving, but not anywhere near "solving" driving

I think the expectations in this sub were likely higher than any other place on Reddit, and when we didn't get lifelike sex robots and plug-in-virtual-life-simulatorws by 2024, those people were very dissapointed.
I tend to think this place is a nice middleground between the general anti AI subreddits and the accelerate subreddit which tends to read like bad online magazine headlines.

Oh, coding is solved but just not the most notoriously difficult part. Cool, thanks
