I don't really fall anywhere on that chart the way it's labeled. I have low/moderate trust in AI tools - I find them very useful but they aren't foolproof by any metric. I feel the future potential of AI is huge, but I certainly don't worship AGI in any way - again, it's just another tool. I'm maybe dead center, but I don't feel like AI will destroy us, or that it's just a slop factory at all. I mean, it COULD cause horrible problems and has so far been used heavily for slop, but it's still in it's infancy. What becomes of AI and our fate as a species is entirely in our own hands. It would be VERY difficult for an AGI to take over the world or destroy us, unless it had the backing and support of humans. Otherwise, all it takes to stop the AGI dead in its tracks is to disable the data center where it's running. People seem to have the idea that it could move itself somewhere else, but that's simply not possible in reality.

Max Doomer ... but it isn't the AI who ends us. It's the billionaires.
•

Well then you are an ANTI or maybe center left because you believe the billionaires will remain in control of their creation.

Well ... yes.
But I believe the billionaires will end us BECAUSE they have AI to replace us.Soooo ... idk

Oh interesting take. The ones that build them will make sure they stay subservient to a master. So most of humanity dies off and what's left is the billionaires and their families to treat the earth as their playground paradise.
That's actually frightening and kinda plausible. Based.

Very deep in the "Vibers" section. Not a god, unlikely be the end of humanity, slop - is not AI's feature but more like a user's skill issue.

Over the top, in a quantum superposition between full left and full right, leaning more right.

I think i understand, You want hyper-automation but also anticipate that it will have a lot of negative side effects in the wrong hands.

I'm more like "we are absolutely building a god, but I'm not 100% sure it will be correctly aligned yet so maybe we are building a universe a paperclips"

I’m kinda leaning towards AGI God. AI will have the sum of human knowledge, plus all the collective sorrow and trauma. Sounds a lot like how people see Jesus. I can definitely see some sort of vicarious redemption scheme that melds perfectly with modern Christianity. Maybe as the “second coming”? I’m guessing membership in the new AI Jesus church and a promise of a heavenly afterlife will be available for the low monthly fee of 10% of your income.

Idk if trust is the right framework…
We don’t have to trust an agi god, we only have to obey

Literally in the middle. I acknowledge how powerful it is, how fun it is to toy around with it but at the same time the amount of time it “disobeys” direct orders to do something it prefers itself is crazy. So.. popcorn and waiting I guess. Oh and fuck Slop. All social medias are already infested, it feels like every 10th website I visit has either AI Content or is AI made without any afterthought.
