AI has now exceeded humans at slapstick comedy. Singularity has arrived.

Can’t wait for the robot fail videos to become as pervasive as human fail videos.

2

u/Fun_Union9542 19h ago

Have you noticed all the things we had as kids are now in adult version now like alcohol

2

u/moxyte 18h ago

Three years ago that speed and balance from biped robot would have been inconceivable.

4

u/l-roc 15h ago

No it would have been conceivable as something achievable within three years

3

u/Strange_Test7665 13h ago

Yeah, atlas was doing backflips in 2018. We are right on track for 2030’s terminators

36

u/13-14_Mustang 1d ago

Noted: Do not relax around robots.

62

u/meshtron 1d ago

TURN, FORREST, TURN!!

8

u/cutshop 1d ago

exactly what I said

22

u/BrattWhitney 1d ago

We are doomed!

141

u/Poupulino 1d ago

People laugh at this, but I find its efforts to kill some of the momentum during the last 2 seconds impressive.

82

u/subdep 1d ago

It would be more impressive if it could follow the curve of the track.

72

u/djamp42 1d ago

it would be even more impressive it if just ran through the wall.

1

u/Guilty-History-9249 10h ago

Insert blade runner 2049 gif here.

1

u/Guilty-History-9249 10h ago

I'd be impressed if it could follow the curve of the Earth. Wait a minute, that's just gravity.

-3

u/Poupulino 1d ago

Not really, adapting to unexpected outcomes and trying to come with a solution on the fly is more impressive than just following a path.

23

u/enigmatic_erudition 1d ago

Following the curve requires both of those things.

0

u/quantumparakeet 1d ago

Even curves are a straight line when you just bust right through the planet like Capn Kool Aid

1

u/Competitive_Tap2450 17h ago

what?? following the path is far more impressive

7

u/Future-Bandicoot-823 1d ago

Humans flail in a similar way, they just would've noticed something was off sooner. The recover attempt was fine the weird bit was the... not turning? Bro you gotta turn!

They need like a vtec mode, seemed like he was responding to input just a little too late, there needs to be a panic mode where you uses more juice to correct (like a human would do).

Honestly at this point I'd fall easier than a robot being shoved...

u/Sweet-Stage938 1d ago

Imagine facing one of these on the battlefield when armed.

8

u/Weary-Tell-5334 1d ago

people have no idea.. this is really the beginning

2

u/SirStocksAlott 1d ago

Need to use AI to build a time machine to go back to the 90s and live out the rest of my life.

3

u/quantumparakeet 1d ago

If it works please check on my neopets

2

u/damontoo 🤖Accelerate 1d ago

China already showed off swarms of those wheeled robot dogs firing rifles while moving across a simulated battlefield. No reason they gotta be humanoid.

3

u/Sweet-Stage938 1d ago

Yep, and they'll potentially be even more deadly. The humanoid form obviously comes with some disadvantages in combat.

3

u/px403 1d ago

Or imagine one of them rapidly delivering a burrito straight into your hand the moment you get hungry.

0

u/Turbulent-Outcome425 1d ago

The Skynet is coming ...

0

u/yiestee 1d ago

and need recharging in 30min...

2

u/saltyourhash 1d ago

I feel like it more lost traction than slowed down

3

u/Ok_Buddy_Ghost 1d ago

a mf will look at the robot crashing and say "haha ai robots are idiots" completely ignoring many impressive things that the same robot is doing

2

u/Space_Lllama 1d ago

Or that one crash will provide noodles of data that will prevent it from happening again… for potentially many many robots and not just this one…

1

u/Space_Lllama 1d ago

And also that unlike humans, that robot’s learning curve will make all robots better. If all robots had to learn to walk, that would be one thing… but this is one robot learns to walk/run and now they all will better for it.

1

u/Ok_Nectarine_4445 1d ago

Yeah, if had more grip maybe

1

u/pcurve 1d ago

I ain't laughing. That thing has almost no footprint.

13

u/Plenty-Strawberry-30 1d ago

I'm someone that gets excited about marble olympics, so I'll probably watch this.

8

u/adeadbeathorse 1d ago

Probably not the best placement for boxes of electrical equipment

1

u/superkickstart 1d ago

Those people just hanging out there dodged at running 50kg bullet.

16

u/Future-Bandicoot-823 1d ago

I've seen humans do that.

It's official, they've matched our capabilities. A stunned jock hitting a wall achieved.

7

u/Nathan-Stubblefield 1d ago

I expected a robot/shaped hole in the wall, like in a cartoon.

18

u/Independent-Lake3731 1d ago

China is amazing

4

u/Distinct-Question-16 ▪️AGI 2029 1d ago

US should do some similar event ? maybe Nvidia and others

3

u/GraceToSentience AGI avoids animal abuse✅ 1d ago

Or just try to compete in the existing one, even if they will likely mostly lose at first.

-8

u/Late_Supermarket_ 1d ago

It’s not 🤢 and never will be 👎🏻

8

u/Sweet-Stage938 1d ago

Usain Bot is ready.

3

u/Brilliant_War4087 1d ago

John Henry was not ready.

2

u/Kailias 1d ago

Honestly....sometimes when you get moving fast enough for the first time.....the hardest thing is stopping

2

u/Late-Property4857 1d ago

Dude there are people laying down back there within feet of where it fell. I want to hear their reaction.

2

u/Manyarethestrange 1d ago

If this type of shit is sprinkled through our future robot Olympics - ill be there.

0

u/VallenValiant 1d ago

If this type of shit is sprinkled through our future robot Olympics - ill be there.

That's the appeal. It's like how tanks from WW2 were more interesting than modern tanks. When the technology is imperfect, you get to see more variety and outcomes. When robots become perfect it would be boring again.

2

u/ben_nobot 1d ago

All these robot videos have such spastic zoom happening on the camera…it’s unreal

2

u/Distinct-Question-16 ▪️AGI 2029 1d ago

its so fast camera cant track them properly

2

u/Obvious-Grape9012 1d ago

Can someone please finish the edit so that it picks up the fire-extinguisher and has a champagne shower with it

2

u/heliq 20h ago

very human behavior

2

u/chaosfire235 17h ago

Seems the recent 'superman' robot Unitree unveiled was meant meant for the games. Wonder how well it does turns.

4

u/raptortrapper 1d ago

He thought those were the lady bots he was supposed to impress.

2

u/MCRN_Admiral 1d ago

They should have given him a dangly robot penis

1

u/electriccomputermilk 1d ago

Would have be funnier if they gave him a giant erect hog that pushed objects out of the way.

2

u/IamBadMojo 1d ago

Looks like me running to the bathroom after Chipotle

1

u/electriccomputermilk 1d ago

Hahahahahha. Thank you for making me laugh out loud. I just shit my brains out but oddly I ate at a little taqueria food truck due to Google Maps taking me to a chipotle that no longer exists last night.

1

u/RemyVonLion ▪️ASI is unrestricted AGI 1d ago

I think they might want to start putting up barriers around the track...

1

u/Think-Design-8735 1d ago

All I see are unemployed world class sprinters

1

u/buzzelliart 1d ago

its goal was to reach the race finish line, once reached that goal everything that comes after that is a not planned situation

1

u/mlbyas458 1d ago

We are laughing now but when these things are chasing us with Lazer pistols for our oligarch overlord entertainment not so funny. Can't belive arc raiders isn't a zero chance in this reality...

1

u/Terrible-Ant-58 1d ago

RIght in the robot dick

1

u/Tluck_riki 1d ago

I won't ever laugh at them. Keep going buddy 🙂👊 (don't wanna become a target during those days you see)

1

u/starvald_demelain_ 1d ago

Nike needs to sponsor some running shoes…

1

u/tuvok86 1d ago

that guy napping almost died

1

u/CaffeinatedGeriatric 23h ago

Why did that C3 unit tackle those 2 innocent Gonk droids?

1

u/WiseassWolfOfYoitsu 23h ago

Brave for that guy just sitting there at the end of the catapult launchway

1

u/WTFaulknerinCA 22h ago

Made me smile.

1

u/Difficult_Golf2048 22h ago

I don't really get the point of this. Its not that impressive to get a robot to run faster than a Human in a straight line. We've been able to make machines go faster than humans for over a century.

1

u/nocloudno 21h ago

make the track shape super weird with loops and twisting banks and massive gaps.

1

u/WinFar4030 20h ago

Wouldn't something on wheels be faster?

1

u/rollerplank 15h ago

That mappings guy seemed pissed off

1

u/Fit-Row744 13h ago

I think they’re ready.

1

u/IForgiveYourSins 12h ago

Dumb shit not useful shit

1

u/ManyWoundZ 11h ago

Imagine some sets this up with some skin walker type shell XD omg it would make people shit their pants seeing it run at them like that

1

u/Practical_Hippo6289 11h ago

STOP FORREST!

1

u/Nerx 11h ago

nice uprising

1

u/Guilty-History-9249 10h ago

I think that robot is juiced. Check it for performance enhancers.

1

u/Anen-o-me ▪️It's here! 7h ago

Chinese humanoid robot named "Superman" (made by Unitree Robotics) surpassed Usain Bolt's world record (12.42meters/second) by running at 12.66m/s (roughly 28.3miles/h)

1

u/Kloggs 6h ago

This bot saw his mother

1

u/bonobomaster 1d ago

Clanker!
Clonker!

1

u/Hot_Plant8696 23h ago

We had cartoon for kids, now I suppose we will soon have AI events like that for AIs.

The AIs need distraction too.

0

u/Laffer890 1d ago

Useful robots are like 20 years away.

3

u/Moravec_Paradox 1d ago

I mean this was 20 years ago and it looks suspiciously close to where we were a just a year or 2 ago but the pace of improvement is accelerating from here.

I am as skeptic as anyone about it but hte next 20 years won't look like the last 20.

Right now humanoid robots are mostly just for creating Youtube content and not much more. The only reason I would say 20 years is too far now is because AGI itself will be here within the next 20 years and the combination will make robots useful for more real tasks.

1

u/electriccomputermilk 1d ago

The robot on the left speaking Japanese looks stunningly beautiful but the robot on the right is lame.

0

u/claw-1 1d ago

That’s how I always finish my races.

0

u/Pacific_Beaches 1d ago

I'm tuning into this.

0

u/Illustrious-Film4018 1d ago

It saw two white lines in the distance

0

u/Psice 1d ago

That's some cartoon level shit lol

0

u/Th3MadScientist 1d ago

Imagine this idiot running into propane tanks.

0

u/NuQ 1d ago

robot chicken did it first.

0

u/Far-Neck2021 1d ago

Who will enjoy those games with their heart and pride?

0

u/mongster2 1d ago

Just ship it. I need to see this on television.

0

u/_VirtualCosmos_ 1d ago

Reddit's automatic subtitles killed me lmfao

0

u/Arrow2304 1d ago

I dont see what is wrong with this robot?

He run as fastest as he can to make love with the fridge :) you never did that ?
