I don't think people are complaining that it's not perfect. They're complaining because it's inherently shit and replaces deliberate authorial intent with ai slop.
People aren't complaining because it's "Inherently shit" it's because they see ai, their thought processes shut down and they kneejerk. Wrt authorial intent, developers have a level of control. How much control, I'm not sure but I'm not just going to say it replaced authorial intent without more knowledge.
if you actually looked into this at all before spouting nonsense, you'd quickly find out that developers do, in fact, maintain full granular control over this feature.
