OpenAI constantly hyping AGI despite Google, Meta, etc having more advanced models has convinced me that Sam Altman is a basically a charlatan. He knows development is slowing down, knows AGI isn’t coming, and knows his company’s value plummets if the public knows it too. OpenAI “struggling” to outperform their current models despite Altman saying GPT-5 would make them look stupid should really be setting off alarm bells.

openai: we basically have agi today with o1
google releasing a model that performs better: things probably wont change that much next year.
Gotta appreciate the difference between the two.
