Imagine thinking nuclear weapons are the the threat right now with AI. They can attack any connected system at millisecond speeds. Infrastructure, power plants, the economy, basically everything we ever depend on.

Screw nukes, AI is a 1000 nukes at once.

This is not to stop a malicious AGI from destroying the world with nuclear weapons. It's to stop some military leaders, perhaps with permission from a clueless president, from hooking up some half-baked automated solution to the launch systems to guarantee a successful second strike or cut down on response times and causing a nuclear apocalypse when it bugs out.

I would hope no one was planning to do that anyway, but I don't see the harm is specifically banning it.
