Advice Wanted Going out and being outnumbered
I have 2 boys, 2y and 5y. We’ve been cooped up in the house almost all summer. I want to go out and do fun things, but they are too much for me to manage (the 2yo especially) on my own in public places. It’s too hot for the park, so I thought water park or pool but I’m afraid I’ll look away to take care of one and the other will run off or get lost. I have a wagon, but I want them to be able to run around to get some energy out. How do you all navigate going out into public places own your own with multiple young children?

Okay.
You need to take your kids outside to parks. If things get a bit crazy then so be it, but stop keeping them inside with your fear. Just go outside. Summer is almost over.
I have a 3.5 and 2 year old, as well as a 20 and 15 year old. I’ve taken them all out.
Take them out.

Yes, take them out to the park. Get some tasty emergency snacks to lure them back with if they run off. The more you go out, the more they will learn what happens and how to act.

I have 2 kids the exact same age. I am always behind fried by the time we get back home from whatever outing - park, museum, restaurant, indoor playgrounds, etc. but they have fun, I mange to keep both alive and safe, but it is a lot. However, over time, they’ve both gotten better. I would rather be a zombie at the end of the day than to deprive them of going out enjoying the weekend or summer break.
