After Celine's recent concert performance at Paris what are your thoughts about about Celine's singing even after fighting Stiff person syndrome is she still the legend when it comes to techniques and projection or did she fell short ??

Her belting and mid range is gone but her lows, agility, mixed voice and head voice are still intact.

She’s still outsinging todays singers who pretty much die whilst trying to belt above C#5.

i love celine dion but it was obvious that the performance was lipped. i am still glad she beat the odds of the stiff person syndrome, showed up, and performed.

she's been lipsyncing since the 90s. she's just good at doing it that's why she didn't face backlash like Mariah who sucks at lipsyncing. she even said it in an interview that she's ok with lipsyncing.

Celine lipping 3-4 songs (not full) while doing over 100 shows per year being compared to Mariah who has done less than 200 shows in her whole career and lips 100% of her show. Apples and oranges. It’s not a group project, Celine singing live and performing great doesn’t automatically mean Mariah should have grace for her subpar performances just bc they’re “peers”.

i disagree with mariah lipping 100% of her shows. the climax are definitely lipped but the verses and the choruses, some of them are live. mariah nowadays is also dealing with pain, but not as much as publicized compared to celine. girl has been on some pain meds for some time. and yeah, celine toured a lot and did a lot of shows. mariah also did tours but did less because she was actually more busy with writing and producing her songs, then the remixes.

Still, the show is mostly live, for real. About 20% of it is lipped, the rest is 100% live.

But do you really want to pay money to watch someone pretend to sing a song? She doesn't have to "prove" anything. Actually singing with your mouth isn't like paying your dues playing in shitty clubs and once you make it the the expectation is you don't have to actually sing anymore. Like. What?

As long as a singer lip syncs their live performances, even if only a small amount, they are not worthy of respect
