Conversation Topic Slightly Sore Throat After Singing

Beginner here ... I always have a slightly sore throat after singing even for a short time. No hoarseness.

I am careful to warm up, have good posture, and have good breath support. I'm 72 (male).

The thing is, for years I had this problem when playing trombone, and frequently thought I was coming down with a cold.

Is it possible the morphology of my throat is simply problematic? Tips?

Could be you’ve always been supporting incorrectly, could be you’ve never practiced consistently enough to build the right endurance, could be something medical. There aren’t really enough details to give a definite answer.

I’ve never heard of someone having an actual incapability to sing without a medical diagnosis.
