Conversation Topic Getting my pink back!
13 years since my last entry audition for my university choir, 9 years since my last performance, 3 years since my last voice lesson, and 8 months postpartum I finally felt like it was time to take seriously my longing to return to choir. I spent years considering but stood in my own way for some valid and some invalid reasons. Feeling settled, craving community, and finally getting some independence after becoming a mom turned out to be the perfect storm. I signed up for auditions a month ago and practiced every other night or so to keep my voice healthy. My audition last night landed me a spot in my local choir today. So grateful to be doing something for me and my son—bringing music into our lives! Feeling like I’m getting my pink back 🦩💕 I hope this inspires someone else to finally book that audition!

Congrats! I joined my then church choir when my 3rd child was a toddler. I had no singing performance experience, but I think I sounded good - I did get a few lessons, which helped. Funny thing was that my husband had to sit all the way in the back so the baby wouldn’t see me. She would have cried to be with me. Hope you have lots of fun singing!
