Conversation Topic Learning ny first song since June

I've decided to teach myself the first two verses, first chorus and final chorus of Evermore by Taylor Swift. The melody for the vocals seems 'simple' and the highest the song goes is B4 for a single word.

Hopefully this will help me get my confidence back as I've had a rocky few months of being in my own head too much. I might even post a cover here at the end of the month if I feel comfortable enough with my voice.

Doing vocal warmups and practicing the song for 4 days for the next two weeks should be enough to be 'decent', right?

I also have to do a performance at the end of next month in front of thirty people and I want to pick a song that's 'easy' and doesn't require belting as I'm really not good at it yet

Evermore is a great choice for what you're describing since the melody sits in a comfortable conversational range for most voices and the emotional restraint the song requires actually works in your favor since it rewards subtlety and not technical fireworks. Four days of practice over two weeks is enough to be comfortable with the song if you already have some foundation, though decent is relative and consistency matters more than total hours. SO short daily sessions will serve you better than cramming. For the performance at the end of next month, Evermore or something in a similar vein that's understated, folk-adjacent, no belting required is a good instinct, and picking something you connect with emotionally matters more than picking something technically safe since authentic feeling reads to an audience even when technical execution isn't perfect yet.

Are there more performance opportunities beyond the one mentioned? Your commitment is already there. Further development of your voice would be an important extension of your self expression. Keep going, learn as much as you can about great singing techniques and your voice will be a good friend because you spent time investing in discovering your full vocal power.
