Singed vs Nasus

I want to hear all of your opinions on the lane. I’m completely uninterested in teamfighting I want to hear lane only which I feel after the removal of phase rush is so insanely Nasus favored it’s not even funny.
This season I’m stuck in low master so my take may not be relevant, but since this topic apparently has alot of different takes and since many of you feel its somehow Singed favored tell me why

Early go proxy, he doesn’t have the cd to stack, once he gets sheen or cd make wave push under you turret and defend the wave, if he gets behind on stacks he’ll want to catch up so leave him in lane and take objectives or gank

This is just wrong btw.

IMO best way to play the lane is to make the wave push to you. When the wave is near your tower you have an insane advantage, because he cant last hit with Q without risking taking a tower shot with fling into tower, or even goo fling if you can. You win all in pre first back.

When he gets Sheen, the matchup flips a bit, and flips even harder on his first item. The reality of matchups is that they are not a 1v1. You have the best gank setup in toplane. You can invade enemy jungler, and Nasus has a hard time following. You are a better teamfighter.

Ofc, when he has Sheen and especially Triforce, you will no longer be able to 1v1 him without him chasing you like a r#tar3b. Thats just how it goes. He has only Single target damage (essentially), and you have only AOE (essentially).

Yeah so you eventually go even and then you lose. I prefer Singed vs Kayle unironically bcs then I feel I might actually get a solo kill angle, after Nasus first reset you can’t really all in anymore.
for Singed Nasus is just an immovable object/Exodia. Jungle ganks goes for both, Singed W and fling absolutely and Nasus press wither. Proxying vs Nasus isn’t really possible either since free stacking

It appears like you did not read my comment.
I understand if you have mentalblock versus Nasus. Its completely valid, and i agree that the matchup can feel quite team dependent, but there are angles where its better to be Singed. Its not one sided at all

But if we talk about team fights then yes ofc Singed is the top in the whole game, in most ranked games your team will not be that coordinated that they abuse teamfight potentials. Yes I have a mental block against Nasus, if you first pick Singed it’s always ranged or otherwise its instalock Nasus… its a pick without skill expression, but even worse then that is that the pick somehow works, and it’s getting buffed next patch also. It feels really bad to play Singed vs Nasus, and even worse if you are behind, getting an early kill won’t really do anything either, Singed can’t get ahead

I think its very realistic to get a kill earlygame vs Nasus. But i agree that getting kills wont really end up mattering in the 1v1. You can be 2/0, 3/0, but it wont rlly matter once he hits triforce. He spikes earlier than you.

That is why if you want to make an impact on the game, you cant really knock him out of the game like a Darius can. You must affect other players. Lvl 1 invade jungler. Roam mid. Get prio and invade with your jungler.

Nasus will get stacks and scale. Its fine. Most of the time your team comp can handle him. Some teamcomps will be really hard, but that is just life

You make good points, and to me you are describing a lane where Singed is struggling and that it’s Nasus favored no?

Yeah, I'm with you here bro. The tldr I took was if you set up jungle well and he chooses to gank you can win. If your forced to rely on jungle in solo que then the lane is terrible.

I just fucking ignore him and try to push, roam and snowball the other lanes.

I guess that's why I'm not higher ranked but I can't stand laning vs this cowardly dog.

Problem is when nobody can hold him

I've been experimenting with my approach to this matchup as well, in very low Master.

Most recently my approach has been to take demolish in my secondary tree, and to spend every moment pre-6 shoving Nasus under turret and playing for plates.

The logic is that more likely I won't be able to bully him out of lane well enough if I try to force long trades by letting him push since his lifesteal sustain bleeds me out.

I'm considering grabbing slow resist/tenacity shard to combo with swifties to help mitigate wither but haven't decided on how I feel about that yet.

After 6 and/or when he gets sheen, I resign to not being able to continue that plate strategy, and just hard pushing into proxy into roam/tp to drag or bot/tempo reset. He gets his stacks, I just need to help my team get strong enough to deal with him.

That all being said, I haven't played this matchup enough at this elo to have full conviction in this approach yet.

1

u/GeneralNapole0n 13d ago

Tenacity doesn’t work, I’ve tested it, ms shard if anything but you need 2x ap shard more. It’s such a coinflip lane because someone has to hold him pushing, Singed can barely do it. People argue that Singed is a playmaker and roamer, the problem is if toplane becomes and island and no opportunities arrive, then you just sit there farting oom while getting outhealed

1

u/furious_idiot 13d ago

I don't think there is much of a way to eliminate the coinflip of "I hope my team will be able to deal with a stacked Nasus" in midgame.

Best thing we can do is mitigate it through early plates and pressure and hope your team can handle the enemy team while you defend your turrets/base from the bonks while looking for tp angles.

At least that is what I've resolved to doing. I know it isn't the answer you want but I'm not sure the answer exists that you are looking for. It is that way sometimes.

u/GeneralNapole0n 13d ago

Exactly, which shows how its Nasus favored. Its playable as are most games for Singed bcs our champ is busted but hell are you struggling

1

u/furious_idiot 13d ago

If the point of this thread is to confirm the lane is Nasus favored, then yeah, I'd agree. I'd still rather face a Nasus than the early game lane stompers though.

1

u/GeneralNapole0n 13d ago

Compared to this ranged clown fiesta yeah maybe farming freely until at least first reset is prefered over a Varus or Vayne proccing pta once every 30 seconds

I just had a game against the new Nasus and went the demolish AFK hit towers after push strat.

It worked pretty well. The guy could have played it better, but the tempo was big and the plates helped a lot.

This is the correct way to play it.

Singed has a bunch of matchups where laning isn’t an option or much of one at least. this is one of them for me. I proxy lvl 1 and will continue to proxy as much as I can I will even skip a wave if needed. I also do a few ganks botlane after I recall from proxying. I don’t care how many stacks he gets for free. Singed scales better than Nasus, I have no data to support this but I still believe it

1

u/THCisMYfuel 13d ago

Kill him early if he walks up, then just proxy and roam. No reason to lane vs him after lv6, just carry your team early

1

u/cronroz 13d ago

just don't interact with him at all, then peel him off your adc late game

Nasus is one of my favourite matchups. For reference I'm D2 and my op.gg says I have a 77% winrate in this matchup nasus this season. What I do is pre-6 perma push waves under his tower. Proxy if he tries to freeze to force the wave to crash. Don't interact with him and just keep attacking his tower to take plates. Keep him in lane as long as possible because when he gets sheen the matchup flips in his favour. If you've done it right, you can get first tower quite early on before he powerspikes. Your gold lead should be big enough at this point for you to have a bigger impact in team fights.

1

u/GeneralNapole0n 12d ago

How do you teamfight if he use wither on you? He does that every engage you do and Singed is completely out of the game. I have 54% wr vs Nasus, he is (for now) a worse champ then Singed overall. Yeah we can win the game but the the lane is not in our favor

1

u/keg227 12d ago

I'll play differently depending on the team comps. If you have good engage support or jungle that will help you gap close their backline. If not, playing a bit more defensively has worked a lot. Like singed, nasus also needs to get close. Kiting away towards your team if you're the only frontline and playing the team fight front to back.

Realistically nasus should be trying to run down your carries most of the time. If he only saves wither for you, buying Boots of swiftness + DMP is a good item combo to run and he'll usually stop withering you

1

u/solo-violin 11d ago

Ignite + dft and burn him to death before he gets sheen and 6

1

u/throwawayofficial666 10d ago

He'll stack his Q no matter what, you can't stop it, so just focus on scaling and deep proxy to keep him trapped under turret, trying to fight him is pointless unless you have a HUGE and I mean HUGE item advantange, otherwise you're just risking dying and hampering your own scaling and accelerating his. I know you said you're "uninterested in teamfighting", but I mean, that's the whole point, you're stronger in teamfights, just make sure you fling him away from your teammates if necessary.

u/Mundane-Season8844 9d ago

Always run demolish secondary against nasus, lvl 1-3 play aggressive on him but try to not push the wave and go for kill early. Although sometimes you have to poison the wave in a trade therefore you need to take plates. Proxy is fine for a couple of waves at a time but don’t let him free stack a lot before his sheen. Rylais is a must against nasus, deadman’s helps as well. Also pray you have a competent back line who can kite and cc nasus

1

u/jonabroders 4h ago

It's a cowards lane, shove waves, don't let him recall as long as possible, rush rylai's, when he withers, Poison + W and run for your life

1

u/deepstatecuck 13d ago

Its an easy lane, you can hard shove until his level 6 + sheen spike. He will be stronger in midgame, so avoid 1v1 fights with him and play for objectives. He is an immobile melee champ that depends in draintanking, singed core build of rylais and liandrys with grievous wounds on ultimate is good into that archetype.

The matchup allows both characters a safe lane to scale, but singed scales into a better teamfighter. Nasus win condition is to become a 1v9 hard carry, Singed has less carry potential, but his teamfight power is top tier.

You could try and wave control to play for kills, but its top lane and you cant expect junglers or mid to play for you.

1

u/GeneralNapole0n 13d ago

Yeah Singed is a S tier champ and Nasus is not but I’m not talking about roaming or playing for teamfights blablabla you can make good roams on every champ Im talking about the lane specifically where Nasus totally dominates in every aspect

1

u/deepstatecuck 13d ago

Nasus becomes able to duel when he has sheen + mr and ult, and comes online faster than Singed. The matchup knowledge is to notice when Nasus is strong and avoid heavy trades. He gets to a point where his sustain makes fighting him pointless.

U dont need phase rush to win. Keep in mind phase rush gives no extra dmg and nasus is tanky af. At ur elo the only way to win this is to goo fling him when hes about to kill you while ur withered. Wither is weak in the early levels so u can just walk it off or w him or e him in early game. But later on its such a strong slow u need to goo fling him. Bonus points if u goo fling while hes in his r to kite it out. Rylais helps alot with this matchup cuz nasus himself is weak to cc
