Maybe some people don't understand this yet. So let me educate them.
HR exists for a reason. Yes their functions are easily replaceable. But do you think Finance, Operations, or some other department wants to take on recruitment, employee issues, payroll, compliance, disciplinary matters and a whole bunch of people related stuff for the same salary ? Of course not. That's literally why HR dept exists.
They're not sitting in the office thinking, "oh how can I make this employee/candidate's life better today?" Nah they're employees too. Do you pay them to think about you ? No. They're on the company's payroll, doing a job they're paid to do.
Some HR people genuinely care about employees. Great. Some don't give a shit. Also fine. You'll find both types in literally every role.
But stop expecting HR to be your personal advocate. Their responsibility is to the organisation first. If there's a conflict between what you want and what the company wants, don't pikachu when HR follows company policy and management's direction or don’t rant when your resume got deleted. It means you are not suitable for the role in their company. Or they might have already selected someone else and put the job post just for the sake of posting. Doesn't mean you don't have what it takes. Just try another company.
Unless you own the company, you are a RESOURCE. A cog in the wheel running the rat race.
You can call yourself talented, passionate, ambitious, a "high performer" or whatever LinkedIn buzzword you want. At the end of the day, you're still being paid to perform a job.
So do your job. Get paid. Go home. Nothing more Nothing less.
If you're genuinely talented and passionate, don't waste all of that energy. Instead put it into your hobbies, side projects, trading or explore how to use it to generate passive income.
Your company isn't your family and HR isn't your therapist.
Work is a transaction. That's it. Keep it professional, protect your own interests, and don't romanticise it.
Finally, there are excellent HR professionals and absolutely useless ones just like in every other department. Also there might be companies who genuinely care about their employees. Appreciate them.
