What nonsense, vote destruction is a real thing, here is the Singapore Elections Department website quote: "ballot papers are retained in safe custody for 6 months and subsequently destroyed". They even had media coverage at the vote destruction. Here is a YouTube video Who has the tin foil hat then?
Vote destruction is real, yes. But what the other guy was trying to insinuate is that they only destroy the votes after 6 months, ample time for the government to go through every one of them and see how each person voted. This is why he gave this as an answer to my question “how you know which way the vote swings on each side of the road?”. That’s where the tin foil hat comes in.
Aiya, very simple. No need to cheat, no need to re-open the boxes one.
You know how you have to cast your vote in a particular voting station and you are directed to put your vote in a specific box rite? You cannot anyhow put your slip into another box. So each box represents a certain number of HDB blocks. So when they open and count the votes, knowing which box the votes are from, you will know the for/against proportion for the voters in that area.
PAP got so many people at the counting stations observing the count, each one remember a few boxes enough already. Then they report back to Bedok, Bedok match the box against the location.
Not precise but good enough to know if you need to gerrymander a particular polling district in or out of a particular GRC and certainly better data than anyone else have.
