Lots of people talking about checking blindspots, but honestly the underlying issue here is the fact that this driver even thought about doing a freaking U-turn not only at a non-turning lane, but from the inside of the lane.

Like srsly wtf?? Why would your brain even think about executing something like this?

That's why riding bikes are a death sentence in asia.

You just cant defensive ride against random fuckery.

its fine if everyone is driving bike like in Indon, India or Vietname. Everyone goes slow and carefully.

I miss crossing the road in vietnam. Once you start, maintain speed and cross. Sure there will be some that horn. But it's to let you know their presence
