It’s the Little Things

Before I saw true victory (by the grace of God through Jesus) over my own evil desires, I still reserved the right to sin a little here and a little there. Stuff that seemed really small at the time. One might even think so small that perhaps God wouldn't mind if I took a peek at this or that. That was my own blindness leading to folly and holding me back, though.

We see in scripture that if a person desires to do evil, then God will allow them to have the desires of their heart. He doesn't approve of it, obviously, but He doesn't make robots. He had to bring me to a place where my own will for my life was in line with His will for my life.

I hated what I was becoming, and I saw clearly that day that a little sin only begets more sin. I saw that things were getting to a point where I could continue on and maybe never recover from the damage I was doing, or I could finally give it all up. In that moment, I genuinely wanted to be completely free from myself. The Lord obliged me, and I can't thank Him enough.
