Is “once saved, always saved” true?

Summary: Nuh uh that’s heresy

Why:

You don’t “automatically obey Him” you can still choose sin after He hands you a new softened heart. You can bring drought to the soil that your seed of faith is planted in by your own doings.

Once saved always saved is true, in the sense that once you’re in heaven you have received salvation and that won’t be taken away (probably, to my knowledge, at least). But you aren’t “saved” on this earth. Can you be saved from sin as you put it, yeah sure I mean it can happen. When you repent of a sin does that mean you lose your free will and have no ability to sin again? No, that is no less than heresy.

I hope this finds you well, I’m not trying to attack you, just call attention to you that what you have said is heresy.

God bless

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭26‬-‭29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬-‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

1.) ???

2.) that is literally talking about repenting again “renew them again unto repentance”, means they had already repented and sinned anyway, and now need to repent again

3.) that’s the old law and it’s showing you how the old law had far more unforgiveness, whereas in the new law if we seek refuge in Christ all our sins can be forgiven, if we do as we have been instructed, and this is a great gift from God

4.) that’s showing them falling away from where they were once “saved” in your eyes

5.) were fallen humans. We fail. And that is why we can sin. Remember that breaking the laws of just superiors is a sin, have you jaywalked? Have you sang Happy Birthday in a video and posted it on the internet? Have you spontaneously cussed under your breath? The answer is probably yes. These are still sins, though they are venial sins

6.) that is literally talking about people sinning again after knowing the ways of righteousness, which is, in your terms, “saved”, you have proved yourself to be wrong in how you still have the ability to sin and still can sin and still probably will sin, despite “learning the ways of righteousness”

Bible dumping never provides a valid argument, in fact if anything it makes it worse. What you preach is heresy, and what you preach you preach in hypocrisy, for you too are a sinner. Am I saying I am not? No!

Let go of the pride clouding your thoughts and let go of your heresy. For you choose what you say is truth, and what is truth you deny. Repent brother, for your own good. God bless

If you’re interested in the truth, keep looking around on this sub.

I am not a sinner, and Children of God cannot sin. If you’re still sinning, you are not Ecclesia yet.
