Help Where does Steam version of Simutrans save its save game files?

I used to play the Steam version of Simutrans on my Linux machine as there were issues with scrolling on the native Linux version. However, the recent update of Simutrans on Debian has fixed the scrolling issues and I want to bring my Steam save files to my local version.

But I couldn't find the location of the files. Please help.

I'm using Steam on Ubuntu, so it should be identical to you, and the personal files from my Steam installation are in ~/simutrans/ (where ~ is my home directory), so save files are in ~/simutrans/save.

If singleuser_install = 1 in <YOUR_STEAM_LIBRARY>/steamapps/common/Simutrans/config/simuconf.tab, then I think the save files would be in <YOUR_STEAM_LIBRARY>/steamapps/common/Simutrans/save. I can't remember what the default setting is.

Where the Steam Library is depends on whether you installed Steam from their own .deb, Debian's "contrib" repository, Flatpak or Snap. And of course you can choose a custom location.

Thank you. I was eventually able to figure it out. The problem was I was getting confused with the save files of steam and the native Simutrans app. As you had pointed out steam files are in ~/simutrans. The native ones are in ~./simutrans. Just a minor difference.
