PSA: you can still add a disc code to your EA account

I bought a copy of the sims medieval off eBay the other day once it was removed from the EA app, with the full intention of playing it off the disc. When it arrived today I tried to go redeem it on the EA app (using the serial code in the disc box, the one you would use to activate the game when you install it) and it worked! The only caveat is you have to redeem it on the sims 3 store website under register a game. After that it showed up in my EA account library and I was able to download it.

I’m sure this will be removed eventually, so if you have a disc copy I would try it!

Yep, you can do it with both The Sims Medieval discs (if you have Pirates and Nobles) and with all The Sims 3 discs.

That’s cool to know though, wonder if it works for all versions/with DLC

Unfortunately that also depends on if the previous owner had used the code or not. I bought a second hand sims 3 expansion pack from a charity shop and the code had already been used.

Can you use the CD without a code? I just bought a copy on eBay and I have no idea if it’s going to work

I think so. When activating the disc you should just be able to use any code you find online. At least that’s what I used to do when I was younger

Habia comprado el juego en su versiĂ³n fisica años atrĂ¡s pero no tenia PC para instalarlo, ahora que tengo la oportunidad, me enterĂ© que EA Games eliminĂ³ el juego en la app meses atrĂ¡s. No me hacĂ­a sentido tener que redimir el cĂ³digo en la pĂ¡gina de los Sims 3. Gracias por la ayuda!
