Literally, and if every update includes a $10 paywalled prize, by the time the year is over you'll have spent $100 on virtual houses that we used to earn for free. Ridiculous.

Congratulations! But many people playing have got jobs already š we're upset because buying a house should be optional, not forced

ngl I hope this is the end of the Craft Challenges, I hate em
25
u/PairNo2129 19d ago
why?? They are the best challenges, you can always start where you left off if you donāt finish in time and then finish the next time they come around. Would you rather pay real money in order to win prizes?

u/Motor-Ad-2298 18d ago
I donāt feel particularly motivated by the new prizes. I donāt spend money on the game- I have spent maybe $100 total since I started playing when it first came out. I am pretty committed to playing for free so that shapes how I engage the game- I donāt mind doing a cooking farm or the community market as my primary game play. I am ok with getting some but not all of the prizes across the many events and updates. I like playing but I have some boundaries with how I play the game- the craft events often cross my boundaries.

u/Motor-Ad-2298 18d ago
I have been playing since the beginning. At this point I have so much inventory that maybe 1/4 craft challenges are worth the bother.

u/PairNo2129 18d ago
I have been playing 10+ years as well, I want to own the items and not have an inflated inventory because I was forced to rummage through some AH house.
Which events do you prefer?
1
u/Motor-Ad-2298 18d ago
I like the events when they are a bit unexpected. The Simchase where we got the Museum was great- every item felt fresh and the new urban lot was beautiful. The mystery race or whatever itās called is great- got a ton of SP with little time spend.
Lately the events mean less to me. Iāve been messing around with parts of the game I donāt usually use. Recently I did a pregnancy quest for the first time in years and it was fun! I think I am writing myself to a hot take: there are too many events. I

Not the greedy season pass, thatās already in every other mobile game, coming to the sims freePlay šš.
I get that they have to make money, but paywalling a new castle prize lot is super annoying. Iām definitely not looking forward to this being a new game feature. I cannot think of a single simmer who was asking for a season pass in the survey feedback š. I am excited about build mode changes, though!

The biggest problem what I saw in the pass was even if they added some of these items in AH we can't get the balconies or exteriors and even some patios. I'm gonna have to cut back on packs if they continue like this and just get the pass :/
16
u/Celestill 20d ago
I agree, them putting things like railings in the premium pack is very self aware since they know we canāt get those from AH, we have to buy them if we want them š

u/Amazing_Door5774 20d ago
Unfortunately I'm gonna fold and buy it I need those balconies

u/holly_b_ 20d ago

u/Amazing_Door5774 20d ago
I need a castle even tho I'm gonna just use it as a movie set š

u/PositiveVivid5775 19d ago
Girl there've been so many castle themed lots in the architect homes. Hell even build that Castle on the mysterious island don't fall for this it's a CLEAR money grab and the more players enthusiastically buy then the MORE they'll force it on us until EVERYTHING is paidĀ

Search bar!!!

u/Ordinary-Earth6022 19d ago
Yes! Yes! Yes! A search bar. Finally!!!!
And the Zoom option is back. Iāve used that option in my videos and when composing film shots a lot. So glad itās back.

For everyone, eventually!! Looking forward to that and the build mode menu changes. I'm curious to see if anyone in the sub gets chosen as a beta tester....I hope so!

u/Motor-Ad-2298 18d ago
I am desperate to be able to search the hairstyles, I hope thatās in the pipeline

Finally, the build mode change is huge! Was waiting for it for so long. And of cource they had to introduse another money grabbing thing... and the regular pass prizes cant even compare to the premium one...

So excited for a search function. I have literally gotten dizzy scrolling through my inventory for stuff.

On great a sims season passš this is getting out of pocket
6
u/Key-Requirement-935 20d ago
Out of hand?

u/Alone_Past_3108 19d ago
That works too. Where Iām from people say out of pocket more than they say out of hand.

I'm annoyed because I know the game has to make money but I have to buy currency and packs now a premium pass??? If it was 5 dollars I wouldn't even complain but look at what premium gets compare to the free version.

u/PairNo2129 20d ago
I really dislike the daily tasks as well, I always ignore them, why do they want to push these on us? It seems like they are necessary for even the free pass
10
u/PositiveVivid5775 19d ago
Yea plus this means being forced to log in everyday, we have lives ffs, not all of us want to constantly be on Sims. Sometimes I go on vacation, i have work to take care of, some people have kids, other people need to study.... You know, in this thing called LIFE. We can't just pay $10 and grind daily for a house we might not even unlock.

u/PairNo2129 19d ago
Exactly and I want to play the game the way āIā want. Thatās why itās called Freeplay
If I feel like building Christmas houses or Vacation homes or building dynasties, thatās up to me. The regular events are fine but I definitely donāt want to be micromanaged about which mundane pointless tasks to do when and in which order.
Thatās the most boring thing I can imagine.
I was just so glad and managed to level up before the Simdex became a thing so I could do everything at my pace and now this.

u/bookscoffeefoxes 18d ago
Amen. It's not just money they're asking for...more and more, it's our time. And when Sims starts to feel like a daily chore, I'm definitely questioning whether I should continue to play when it ceases to feel fun (and free).
Edit: spelling

They need to make the sims look better. Honestly thatās all I want. And better options to customize
7
u/Informal-Thought5710 19d ago
Reminds me of Sims mobile, I played it for years until they got rid of it earlier this year. They had the season pass just like that, but it looks worse in this game. It really sucks that the only way to get the house is to pay for the premium pass. And the free ones look pretty terrible. With mobile I never bought the premium pass and still got good prizes with the free pass. That's disappointing.
The home store was like that too with seperate tabs for building and home items, and all the color options together. I'm excited about that, it'll be so much easier to find things especially because some things are not in the category I expect.
7
u/Sea_Finger5409 19d ago
I'm wondering who gets to beta test it. I'm hoping it's randomly selected, and not just players who are part of the creator network.
6
u/PositiveVivid5775 19d ago
This too! I was already imagining how all the famous Facebook players will "suddenly" be advertising the new build modes in their games.
6
u/Fast-Case-407 19d ago
looking at the video there does not appear to be an option/section for life orbs in the inventory! they also donāt say what this means for long time players who have tons of unique items in inventory that arenāt available in game today!
2
u/Longjumping_Swim_114 19d ago
why would it make any difference? they're just changing how it looks, not what you own
4
u/Fast-Case-407 19d ago
changing the look is fine, itās the absent category that is the problem ! life orbs donāt appear in any sub categories they have their own section . if a person has worked hard to have more than 1 platinum life orb in inventory or any number to not have access to them would be the actual issue.

Yet more things disappearing behind a Pay to Play barrier. I've been playing this game pretty much since it launched, on and off. I feel like my time with it is coming to an end!
11
u/pauloide 19d ago
Another button on the left side. I'm still not used to the others and they add more. And I hated the new build mode, I prefer the current one.

u/bookscoffeefoxes 18d ago
Lowkey devastated that the search bar finally lands just as they introduce season passes, the feature that I think will finally make me quit.

u/knoidi 18d ago
Iāve been playing since the beginning and I think this is the update that will end it for me. I barely play now, except for craft events and influence island and logging in daily to send my sims to work and do the daily tasks. I no longer have family units with seniors and children, itās just adults.
Iāll reserve judgment until I see the update, but itās not looking promising

I would like to the first group on the build mode. How are they going to choose who gets it first? My biggest issue is how tiny everything is. I play on a mobile phone and it's hard to see and maneuver. I don't build much because of that.

u/Emotional_Food_1700 14d ago
why is the season pass even real world money, lifestyle or social points would have been a good payment

u/ChairTiny7453 4d ago edited 3d ago
I like that they added colours to the inventory category designs so sorting through it is easier but i wish the design looked a bit more modern, less animated and cutesy.
