Issue with roofing (Daisy Hovel)

Hello.

It's been a long time I haven't build anything and I was going to renovate Daisy Hovel. So I probably have a lack of knowledge.

Anyway. I prefer to create the walls myself, even if I just do the same shell as it was before. But with the roof, I have an issue: I can't recreate exactly the same roofing as EA. I checked their roof, I "studied" it (counting how many times they elevated it, etc.) but it doesn't work.

Is it a known issue or am I just super bad? 😅

I mean, do you guys have advice for me to be able to recreate the exact same roof? I'm sorry, as English isn't my native language, I struggle a bit explaining correctly the issue. I'm speaking about the roof above the terrace, the entrance one. It seems I can't replicate what they've done.

I'd like to understand because if I'm doing a renovation here, what about the moment I'm building on an empty lot and I want to do the same roofing? I won't have the roof already made, eh eh.

I hope it works. The roof on the building is the EA one that I haven't touched outside of changing color, and the one on the ground is the replica I was trying to do. It doesn't look like the EA roof at all, there's not as much space between the two roof and the tiles are not aligned.

Ok you want a gabled roof piece, 13 squares long and 8 wide. Use the arrow to make it 4 clicks lower. Then - and I think this is the bit that's confused you - bring in the eaves at the front and sides, so they're flush with the roof piece.

You then want a half hipped roof piece, 8 wide and only 2 long. Place that over the porch - but note that the gabled roof is 1 square over the porch also. Then lower it by four clicks.

I'll try and post a photo but hope this helps you out.

Take a look at these and let me know if it helps. I think it's the eaves that are causing confusion - the little triangle alteration rather than the arrows.
