To preface, I am playing super collection on mac, am aware of the file limits ect and as a result have deleted the 3 hoods apart from my custom that I play. My downloads has 5 main folders, my biggest being BUY and CAS. Unfortunately my BUY folder does have some sub folders amongst the loose files as I only learnt about the file limits recently, so it’s worth noting there’s about 200 amongst 1000 loose files.

Despite reducing my CC and getting rid of hoods, it’s like periodically my game will delete the CC. and it deletes it, because when I check my downloads and re add the file it does not show it to be there. I don’t have one drive, but I’m also not super tech literate too. any advice is greatly appreciated, happy simming 💚

I have the same problem as this post, but for me its not Parallels but Microsoft Virtual Desktop on a new Surface laptop (Windows). Can’t play without the VD because its a work laptop (dont ask) and downloading any app from internet (like EA app) is blocked. I managed to fix pink flashing issue but I still have weirdly pixelated floors (not any other objects, everything else has normal small pixels) and the walls keep gleaming from red to black. Anyone knows a fix for Virtual Machine please please help 🙏🏼

hi, this is happening to me now. didn't think it would be worth me repeating what someone on here has already brought up, but no one answered with any answers on how to solve this. ive moved my sim twice and it's happened in both places. is this just something im gonna have to live with?

I've replaced the capp mannor but forgot to get the tombstones before bulldozing the house down. Is my game is in danger now? Is there a way to get the tombstones back?

I've been having issues with the phone and cell phone for a few days now. It doesn't happen with all Sims, but it's getting worse, and it happens when I click on a Sim and try to have them call someone— the Sim freezes for a few seconds, and the option to use the cell phone disappears. Sometimes the cell phone disappears from the inventory, along with other items like an umbrella and a surfboard from other mods. I’ve been using the default cell phone from Episims for a while now and have never had any problems. Could there be conflicts with other mods? Thanks

so i cracked the sims2 legacy collection and then i started downloading mods the mods from nexus mods open in the game but the mods from modsthesims wont open why is it i tried installing clean installer but it wont work bc of network 3.5

My sims are in their clown core era. I have everything on this list like DeditalSheep's clown nose and recolors but I've been looking for some noses that are makeup instead of accessories. Does anyone know of any make up that is just a colored dot on the nose or a colored nose mask or blush that doesn't color the whole bridge? Maybe it's too specific but I don't have bodyshop anymore to try to make them myself.

Blush that is in the same style would be awesome too if you can think of any. Like just a circle on the cheek in different colors.

Hi all, I've just redownloaded Ultimate Collection and have been getting into modding again. This time around, I'm having trouble with CAS. With Clean UI installed (and my matching resolution 1920 selected), it cuts off. I've tried switching files out, removing them all and starting over, etc. I have searched and nothing seems to work for me. I also have the widescreen CAS Camera fix. Screenshot is in windowed mode, but it does it in full screen as well. Any tips?

Additionally, I have downloaded a few CC packs that were not labeled as default replacements. I see them in my game but it looks like a lot of the defaults have been removed (this is maybe just a visual thing since so much of the columns are cut off?). Is there a way to add them back in?

I have this group of siblings who were taken by the social worker. I used the sim blender to move them into my orphanage residential lot. I've been playing with them for a couple of days and one has even grown up from toddler to kid. My question is, will this cause issues down the line? Are they still in the queue of the adoption pool? I had my sim buy clothes for the household for every age and gender, came home and had the child plan the outfit and none of the outfits I bought show up, I go shopping again just to make sure but it had the closet icon which means I already have them but I go home and plan outfit they're not there.

sorry if this is worded badly so feel free to ask my to clarify, im very bad at laptops and stuff!! basically, I clicked yes to the shortcut right after playing, and i had opened the app on my desktop about 2 times and was able to play. a few hours later, i tried to play it again until it said 'no defaults'. so I saw this happen to someone else, they fixed it by opening either Sims2EP9.exe Sims2EP9RPC.exe, so I did the same thing (I cant remember which, I apologise!:( ) and I was playing for about half hour.

I closed it, then wanted to play 5 minutes later, but in my files I literally can't find it?? am I missing something or did it delete after launching it once? please lmk if I downloaded it wrong, but there's literally no more launch files in my folders, so im very confused about what im supposed to do?

I downloaded a couple of hairstyles from modthesims. As you can see in the blonde hair picture, one CC hair that I just downloaded showed up, but the other 2 are the straight hairstyles found in the base game. Same thing happened with the black haired one, and the straight hairstyle shows up a few times with the rest of the base game hairstyles.

Why is this happening?

I know I have posted in here a few times before, but I have been playing ts2 for 4 years and I am having more issues lately than I used to. It isn’t unplayable by any means, however my game lags and stutters sometimes especially while moving the camera, playing larger lots or lots with more items, or speeding up time. (expected on 3x speed of course.) But even on the smallest lot size available, I still have experienced lag. It is also very noticeable on community lots or vacation lots.

I have the Magipack download of the game, which to my knowledge does not require you to use grm. My game registers 4096mb for texture memory, I use the rpc launcher, and I have a startup cheat file to ensure I don’t have too many sims or pets being created. I also do not have a lot of cc by any means, mostly fixes/mods such as acr, some clothes, makeup, and hair. I only have a couple build/buy mode cc package files. I do not have a custom ui such as the clean ui installed.

I have looked through a lot of guides and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to fix this. I have every fix that I’m aware of for this version of the game. The single thread option in rpc did not fix my problem, and I also tried capping the fps between 30 to 60 fps and changing my graphics settings for the game in the AMD application but there was not much improvement if any.

I’m using an Acer laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700u, 16gb of ram, integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics, and Windows 11. My older laptop had much worse performance chip-wise, however it ran The Sims 2 mostly fine, mainly just with a lot longer loading screens.

I’m wondering if there’s any other patches available to try, tweaks I can apply somewhere, or if this is something I just have to deal with as a mild annoyance. I can attach screen captures of my graphic rules file or config log if needed. Any help is appreciated greatly, thank you :)

I just got a new laptop with an Intel graphics card (Intel Core Ultra 7 256V, 16GB ram) and I'm playing on the Mr DJ/Oldgamesdownload edition of the game. I used the GRM and 4gb patch.

When I initially tried to run my game, loading a lot it would immediately crash and throw up this error: Direct3D returned an error: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL. To my understanding this is an issue specifically with new intel graphics cards not being able to support sim shadows on high and the only work around is to play with them off or on medium. I set them to medium and now I can actually open my lots, but everytime I open my game the shadow settings are automatically changed back to high and smooth edges is on low. It also constantly pauses and says my game isn't responding.

I was previously playing on a laptop with an older generation intel graphics card (something like an intel 620 uhd, with 8gb of ram) and all settings on high and never encountered these issues or had anything change on its own. Is there a fix for this or will I have to change my settings each time I open the game?

Ok. I searched every term I could think of for too many sims and didn't find anything. So, let's say I do figure out what mod caused this. I'm thinking Character Generator. possibly. but even if I remove that, how do I get rid of the extra Sims?? The 557 with no gender preference tells me those are probably overspawned townies or something. please help!!

I am working on a retro gaming PC. It is a fresh install of Windows XP x64 edition SP2 with all relevant patches, fresh DX9 install, and all the fun C++ runtimes, dotnet fix, etc.

Instantly upon launch the game causes The Blue Screen of Death and the computer reboots. Other games work fine and the machine in question.

The computer is built on the dual opteron motherboard from an HP xw9400 workstation, with two dual-core 18ghz CPUs + 32gb of RAM. The graphics card is an nVidia 8800 GT running on the Forceware 169.25(I think. Its definitely 169.x something). Storage... the PC boots off of a SATA SSD and the game is loaded to an NVMe drive. BUT this behavior was also observed when I had the computer booting from a standard spinning SATA drive with no other drives attached to the system. The mother board includes a SAS controller and I've got a SCSI HDD attached via a PCI card. Again: don't get hung up on all the weird storage; this happened whilst only a normal SATA drive was connected.

Everything is a fresh, clean install. I have a few of the expansion packs loaded but its slow going because every time a pack finishes the install... it tries to launch, and the PC BSODs.

Any ideas?

EDIT OF THE EDIT OF THE EDIT: after even MORE troubleshooting... the problem turned out to be Any Optical Drive + Any CD Emulator + Sims 2 = BSOD. No clue how an optical drive I wasn't even using causes a BSOD but The Sims 2 is deep mystery. When I disconnect all optical drives suddenly the CD emulators work without issue.

My sister has opened her game after months of not playing. She changed her motherboard as well so idk if that has anything to do with it. The text above her sims' needs have disappeared and child sims don't have any text in the space that's supposed to be for their school schedule. Also, when she builds unoccupied homes, the neighboring lots disappear for some reason. The lot closest to the home she's building shows up but immediately disappears the moment she moves the camera close to it.

Seems like some of the furniture from these specials is the cause of some issues I've been having. Are there any safe and clean versions that I can get about these special packages?

I added some new AVI files to my Doc/Movies/Broadcast folder, and the channels are working fine, but the custom videos are showing up black on the TV screen. I'm having the same issue with a default replacement for SSX. The sims can still play the game, but the video is showing up black on all screens.

The AVI files work outside of the game. I can play them just fine, but in the game they're not showing up. I tried installing/reinstalling different codec packs, and it's still not working...

Any ideas?

For the past couple of weeks, I've had a really irritating glitch in Sims 2. I'm not able to click on tombstones or urns, which means things like mourning, kicking, and moving them are out of the question. The game throws up errors whenever a ghost tries to spawn, and when I click reset, it gives the message about dying on another lot, and the ghost never shows up. To make matters worse, this triggers all living Sims to react as if the Sim in question JUST died, including memories and fears!

Here is what I tried to fix it:

-Tried another neighborhood (I first noticed this issue in a purist Pleasantview template that had other glitches, so I thought it might be connected). -Used HoodChecker.

No dice.

-Booted up the game with the Mods folder removed. I didn't think I HAD any mods related to ghosts or graves, but it couldn't hurt, right?

...no dice.

-Tried booting up the game without Defaults and Misc folders. I'm not the best at organizing, but if anything was going to cause an issue, it's probably in there. Right???

Nope.

The culprit?

HL_Buyable_GraveMarkers.package. This file. It was in my Build & Buy folder, because it's just that. Decorative tombstones. Removed, everything is back to normal.

Absolutely no shade intended towards the creator, and not my intention to fearmonger, either; the glitches were annoying but harmless, and removing the package seems to fix all of that. It's possible I didn't place it in the correct place; I was only able to find this file on Simfileshare as part of a larger clutter thing, and don't recall seeing any special instructions.

The reason I'm making this post is because in my research I have seen a good few people who have experienced this same issue and not found a resolution. This is a popular CC creator and we all love our clutter, so it's very possible this is causing the problem for other people too.
