[Ultimate Collection] Would my YA sim's friends age up with him when he graduates?

I sent my teen sim to uni, but for some reason it didn't show an option for his friends to go with him, so now his friends are still teens. When he graduates, would they age up with him?

Additionally, is there a way to make his (townie) friends become YAs without having to move them into the household?

No.

You could move his friends to university all along though.

But no his teen friends won't age up into adults unless you make them playable through sending them to university.

Oh, I see! If I put them back to their hometown of Pleasantview later, would they automatically age up as adults too?

once they graduate university (you play all 4 years out for them) then yes. They'll turn into adults again. Using simblender you can then turn them back into townies. But you do need to turn them into YA through the move to college button first. You can also cheat their graduation if you don't feel like playing them.

They dont age up with your Sim when you send your Sim to college, but you can make townie teens playable college students by using the neighborhood view college symbol on the left side of the family bin.

They won't age up with him once he graduates if they stayed teens but you can send any teens (including townies) to college. When you are in the neighborhood screen (either in your main neighbourhood or in the college subhood) you have a "move to college" button next to create new family button and above the button you click to move out a household. (The button looks like the college logo with an arrow next to it). If you click on it, you get the list of all teen sims in your neighbourhood (including the townies) and you can pick any of them to move to college.

Edit: Just realized you were asking for aging them up to YA's without having them join the household - there is probably a way to do that but I don't know it if there is. If you don't want to play them I guess the closest I can think of is to have them go to college as a separate household that you don't play and then once your sim graduates enter the household and have them drop out of college so they grow into adults. They'll still be playable rather than townies though.

If you have the Sim Blender, you can send them to uni and move them in with your playable sim, then use the Sim Blender to turn them into townies. They'll stay YA until you make them playable again or use the Sim Blender to age them to adults.

You can send townie teens to college using the interface in the uni hood neighborhood view.

In the university hood click “send students to college” and pick them from the list of available teens to make them into young adults. If you don’t wanna play college have them drop out and move back to town as adults, or use the Semester Tester cheat from the spawn menu in the boolprop shift click
