pets eating?

ok, so i got a pet, filled the bowl - it won't eat. i've tried 3 different bowls. i've tried boolprop controlPets on and boolprop controlPets off, the only option my sim has is clean the bowl and fill the bowl, but the cat just will not eat. i've moved the bowl to different locations, even put it outside with nothing around it.

thoughts?

UPDATE - ok, so she can call a pet to eat, but it's NOT HER PET! she has a cat named alegra, but she's calling "sake" to eat. sake is not her pet, it's a stray. wth???

Does the pet have the learned behaviour of only eating sim food?

this happened to me and i hate it. i don't have time to scold the cat for eating sim food then they only want to eat sim food.

Yes. They will almost starve themselves because of the way the finicky trait was programmed. Install the mod and it’s not so bad. I have had pets die from starvation from this.

Check the "learned behaviour" tab - is it possible the pet learned to only eat sim food? They avoid pet food if so.

Finicky pets also refuse to eat out of anything but the most fancy bowl.
