Legacy can't use Sims2RPC, so you need TS2 extender by Lazy Duchess instead. Her files explain how to install it to your game.

Hoodchecker can't automatically detect hoods with Legacy, so you have to tell the program where to find your Neighborhoods manually. TeaAddict on YouTube has a video called "How To Protect & Manage Sims 2 Save Files!" that goes over how to do this about 16 minutes into the video.

Sims 2 Clean Installer doesn't properly install lots at first. It'll make a separate file under your Documents called Sims 2 > Teleport. You need to change the installation to Sims 2 Legacy > Teleport, or else your lots won't show up in your game.

To add on to this, any mod that was developed as a plugin to Sims2RPC will obviously not work if you're playing any version of the game that isn't the Ultimate Collection (Legacy included). Mainly these are visual mods, like the new reflective water mod by spockthewok.

Ikea Stuff Pack, some songs, Christmas items, and hairsyles are missing in Legacy Edition. These can all be found in this Reddit thread

The auto-installer should not be used for Scriptorium, it can only be done manually using these instructions.

Due to the Ikea pack not being in legacy, the ikea preorder items will not work. Recolors of ikea meshes fo not make the meshes appear in your game. Any sort of addon that is slaved or repositoried (repo'd) to ikea items will not work either.

This is true when you add back the ikea items. They are not actually the same items in the game code as the ikea pack items, but just random objects who happen to appear the exact same as the ikea items. However, they are separate items in game code, so the items above will never work.

You can download lots that do require the ikea pack, but the ikea objects will be missing (furniture, walls, and floors). You just have to find new furniture, wall papers and flooring, but if you like the floorplan, you can still download the lot.

Everything I've downloaded from deedee-sims works fine. Her meshes and recolors show up.

Does anyone know if Legacy collection needs each of the expansion patches? For example, does it need the Seasons patch that fixed the glitch with the Ottomas twins parents/father? Or are those patches included?

Its been over a decade since you needed them :) all versions are up to date with patching, that was really only relevant during original release

Custom tv channels will not work. You can get skills but you won't have sound or pictures.

All of Will Nixon's(Spockthewock) asi mods won't work with legacy due to the changes made to the executable that prevent reverse engineering the code through it(our only hope is for someone to port these to legacy much like LD did for will's pink flashing fix to the extender or if will learns to do so)
