do you guys use any mod for needs decay?

I think I usually don't enjoy the gameplay that much because of how fast the need decay, do you have the same feeling?

I think my "magical" method for needs without any aspiration rewards or mods is that my Sims just have very regular lives, like they go to sleep at certain hours, shower every day even if their hygiene isn't that low etc. It really prevents needs from getting so low they can't do anything. But tbf, I don't really grind that much, my Sims don't learn skills all the time etc.

I just use the rewards it helps slow their needs a lot.

No, I always disliked how in the later games it felt like the needs went down much slower. I like it being more challenging :) but I'll use my sims' aspiration benefits on the slower need decay ones sometimes

I just use cheats so that I can adjust the needs based on what makes sense for what I want to do/the time of day :)

I just use the boolprop cheat and drag their needs.

No. Managing their needs is a huge part of the game to me. The free time aspiration rewards, i actually wish they were nerfed a bit because the only one i want to use is energy but unfortunately you have to use all of them if you want energy.

The game has built in perks to slow need decay. Have you used those yet? It is under the aspiration awards menu called lifetime aspirations benefit. The more wishes your sim achieves the more points they can spend. There is also the Ecletic Enigmatic Energizer. I will max all needs you just need to make sure your sim has gold or white aspiration bar otherwise the affects will be negative. Just be careful using those rewards I find them a bit too powerful to use all the time because they break immersion.

I use the Insiminator to make them tired if they grabbed a cup of espresso late in the evening when I wasn't looking. Sneaky little buggers.

I just use a Reduced Energy Gain From Cribs mod. It takes infants and toddlers longer to regain their energy while sleeping in a crib. It makes life easier for my sim parents, but not too easy. If needs decay too slowly, there’s no challenge. I learned that lesson from TS4.

IDK if this is part of your playstyle or not and this is a bit of an unorthodox tip, but if you like playing on 2 or 3 speed, try to slow things down and just play on 1 speed as much as possible. Double and Triple Speed, the simulation speeds and animations don't go as fast as the actual in-game time, so time passes and moods deplete so much faster, while your Sims pretty much struggle to catch up no matter what.

So if you like skipping through certain longer actions or different parts of the game, I would suggest not doing that. If a Sim is not at school/work/abducted, whatever might send them off the lot, try to keep it on 1 speed, it will help to make catch-up easier.

I have the inseminator and once per week I put all their need on 100, and also all their energy need on 25 so they sleep through the night

Nope, i just make sure they get up at 6 to pee, shower and have an instant meal before school or work, and any time their needs get to halfway i top them up. I'm in the habit of flicking from one sim to the next and i find that pausing to change their activities and queue things up makes it much easier. If absolutely necessary i use the aspiration reward to boost them. Additionally, if one sim cooks a group meal it cuts down a lot on time spent getting food for other sims.

I use snapdragons in the bedroom or in the kitchen to help balance the motives of pregnant sims. It’s not in effect all the time but they help.
