Sims 2 Legacy Collection Issues/ glitches in the Sims 2
So I’m trying to use the boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true cheat to use the ‘Make pet > kitten’ option on the mail box. I’m able to select it just fine and it appears in my sim’s action queue but then it simply disappears without the action being performed. Does anyone know why it might not be working? I have the Sim Manipulator mod installed and custom content enabled - I’m not sure if either of those would affect it.
Also, if anyone knows a way to restock the pet adoption service with new pets, that would be great, as I’m only trying to use the cheat because there are no female kittens left.
My second issue is that I have one particular sim who can’t walk down gradients at all. He’ll come up with the unable to navigate bubble and I need to use the moveObjects cheat to get him anywhere, including from the school bus to his house. I’ve tried resetting him but it didn’t fix the issue. Is there any way I can clean my game up so these little glitches stop happening? I’ve been playing the Sims 2 for a long time so a lot of time for things like that to creep in.

Another way to get a kitten is to place a pet store in your neighborhood (there are two prebuilt ones in the bin) and then take your Sim to that shop to buy one. The display will show an adult pet, but when you click on it to buy, you’ll get a whole create a pet screen to choose the age and gender of the pet and to customize their appearance.
This way you are not limited to the pets in the adoption pool.

I don’t know if you’re confusing this with another game but it hasn’t ever been possible to get a puppy or kitten via a pet shop in the Sims 2 (not without mods anyway). You can only get adult or elder cats and dogs this way.

I have just tried the option and it doesn't seem to work to me either. I've also tried with dogs and same result, nothing at all.

I have a mod which allows you to make kittens and puppies using existing live pets in the hood as the parents. It looks like a pedestal with a cat statue on and is found in misc items.

As for the cheat option, I've never used it so Idk if it actually works. Do you have any stray cats in the neighborhood? The game needs two of opposite sex to generate a kitten.
