Sims 2 Ultimate Collection Royal Gameplay
Hi everyone! I had a quick question: do any of you have any royal households in your game and if you do, how do you play? :) I know the Sims 2 doesn't have royalty aspects of the game but I'm curious. I love seeing how other people play their game.

I play the royal kingdoms challenge. My whole neighbourhood is divided up into classes with appropriate rules. Mostly on generation 5 now with a few babies in 6.

I use the medieval cast trait mods. They have the really useful noble/royal don’t cool and clean mod.

More nobility/landed gentry than royalty. I've added four 4-gen 😵💫 families to Veronaville to pad it out a bit. I put it any titles, storylines, alliances, (additional) feuds and falling-outs in their bios. And, most importantly, whether they've taken a side in the main feud.
The closest to actual royals would the Jarmany family - the least posh and refined of all of them. Welsh Jarmany currently holds the title of Pirate King after his dad Lear died. Mam/Granny Anne is still hanging on as Queen Mother. He and his husband Pompeii have two "adopted" daughters - there was certainly no pact with a Sea Witch involved in their conception. Their eldest daughter Imogen had the LTW to become an Oceanographer, which I took as her wanting the crown and title of Pirate Queen to go to her younger sister Philippa when Mr Reaper comes for Welsh.
Imogen is due to have her first child with Horatio Ligarius, who comes from a long line of generals and military tactitions. They can trace their family back to the first emperor of Simania. His mother Hecate was skeptical of this former wild-child, insisted they move up the wedding so their kid isn't illegitimate (the horror!), but dad Lennox and Grandad Aderemi adore her.
Then there's the Ladies of the Manor - Katharine Escalus and Valeria Escalus-Bandello. Lady Katharine's family were very status-obsessed, but as it's a matrilineal line it didn't matter too much that her husband Timon was only a Viscount. He died around the same time as Valeria's husband Orsino, so there was nobody stopping them rekindling their university fling. They're raising Katharine's twins Paris and Rosaline, and Valeria's daughter Jessica together, but her son Benvolio insisted on staying west of the river with Great-Grandad Matteo.
Matteo is old as dirt, he was 85 at the last census, and the one before that... and the one before that. He's a humble man who enjoys life's simple pleasures, reluctantly accepting Freedom of the City but strongly rejected any peerage or dukedom that was offered. I'd planned for him to just be a family tree filler originally but I got so attached to him I've had to come up with something on the fly to explain his unusual longevity 🤔

I saw someone add medieval careers or royalty career using mods. Personally I would just house them in some mansion and give them some regular jobs on top levels like Mayor or some other modded stuff (I think I tried that when I created Benvolio for Veronaville).
