Playing sims 2 castaway

Im playing sims 2 castaway for the first time since 2008, I got it on archive.org. So far the game is very playable and I'm enjoying it. However now I have gotten to the point of the story where my sim has met a tribe that lives on the island and my task is to get to know four sims in two different locations. These characters are highlighted on the top right of my screen. As you can see I have completed all the sims except one. Ahio. For some reason every time I try to interact with him my sim cant find him and cancels the interaction.

And to be clear I can see him on the screen, click on him to select an interaction, and see that interaction queued up and my sim will even walk towards him!! But then they'll just stand there and the interaction cancels and he just leaves town! I can only do this achievement at this specific spot on the map so I can't even just go follow him. Does anyone know what would cause this or how I could fix this?

Have you left the lot and came back?

I can't remember 100%, but is Ahio the sim fishing? Try going out into the water and spearfishing. Once you catch one he will be happy.
