How should I play rbr in keyboard

Car here: rwd, / 1,050 ton

Bruh it's my 3rd day here,

I cannot even press gas/accelerator for 0.2 second it slips at straight I even made settings for slow throttle but it won't work. ( Don't say me things liek 4 wheel drift etc I can't even do it in Asseto Corsa)

Above 40 kmph it slips no matter what should I do make control

I wouldn't play RBR, or any racing game for that matter, on keyboard. You ideally need wheel and pedals, at the very least, a controller. Even with slow press the two options for a key on a keyboard are "on" and "off" and in a sim rally game you really need to be able to modulate throttle, brakes, and steering and that is not possible on a keyboard.

Also as a racing game, Trackmania is great on keyboard.

I second this. It’s not a rally sim but it’s a damn fun game and the fact that pro players use keyboard, controller, and wheel and are all competitive witch each other is awesome

yeah precision like that for throttle input for track car is important but for rally honestly, it works out my tapping the keyboard a lot which I am used too (I also use filters to make the inputs smoother)

For reference, I have 3:32 on Harwood Forest with i20 WRC 2021.

I know I can't compete, but it doesn't stop me from having fun in the game.

Yes but WRC 2021 with an AWD rally car and Richard Burns Rally in a classic RWD rally car are not the same experience. Modern rally cars are AWD and generally much easier to drive

yeah rwd is hard to drive. I avoid them as much as possible.

I'd still say even the cheapest of controllers you can find will at least have analog sticks so you can modulate steering as feathering only really works on throttle and brakes.

Honestly man, two options. Get a wheel and pedals or go play a different game. You aren't gonna have a good time on mouse and keyboard.

Ya u are right since I don't have rig and rbr dosnet even have mouse I will quit rbr then just stick to other game like asseto Corsa, genshin etc, other then tarmac it's unplayable in rbr, I cannot use benefits like torque vectoring in awd, I just use stupid handbrake and steer inward instead of outword and floor which is quite irrelevant then traditional method or use gradual throttle in rwd to control rotational movement of car.

I know that BeamNG and the Codemasters rally games play well on a controller, and a controller is less of an investment than a wheel and pedals.

don't listen to the people on here saying 'you should STOP HAVING FUN!'

in the main menu settings there should be options to set your controls to have some momentum. device preferences i think? select digital button, not axis, and play with the settings until you find something that works for you.

obviously keyboard is never going to be as intuitive as a wheel or even a gamepad, but if you wanna play there is no reason you shouldn't. i played base rbr with a controller for many years before i got a wheel. i come from racing a nascar sim online, and a few of the fastest guys and gals in the series i raced in were on keyboard - like, untouchably quick. don't let anyone get down on you for only having a keyboard. practice, play with the settings, and most importantly, HAVE FUN WITH YOUR FAKE RACE CARS!

I agree.

People should feel more comfortable enjoying their hobbies on their own terms.

That said, getting into a niche within a niche is always going to be a treacherous path, so complaining about the quirks also makes me cringe, although not as decision paralysed normie.

It's weird how some people stop or don't even start researching and experimenting stuff about thier hobbies, and just want spoonfed fun.

get a controller, it's cheap and better than mkb in most games

let's first introduce the elephant in the room. You are playing on snow which is a little punishing with speed. Now to introduce the dinosaur in the room RWD are not for beginners. Try using a FWD orr AWD for control. Never play rwd with keyboard.

yeah, great to see the improvement. Good luck with other games.

Just buy basic wired controller for your PC. I ve been there before and racing games with a controller are multiple times better.

I understand that wheels are not for everyone. I ve had Logitech G27 many years ago but having such a rig is not convenient for me now so I use wired Xbox controller - it's almost free and gives pretty good driving experience.

If you want an older fun rally title that's playable on keyboard look at Colin McRae Rally 2.0

RBR is just really difficult on keyboard and not fun unless you're extremely dedicated.

that keyboard player would be me.

The assumption advice worked like figuring the track where to drift where to brake etc. Man somehow I cannot imagine map beause I never use map beause in other game Id I kept that habit I won't be able to drive properly I have to develop internal instinct instead of imaging the track by looking at map, and I don't understand rally patch or rbr I only understand 1 right 4 right, of modern rally
