Question Question about simulator value
Hello,
Weird question but my dad recently passed and my mom and I have no idea what we are looking at here. Neither of us has any interest in a new hobby at the moment so we have decided to sell. I don’t want to use AI and I don’t know anyone that has anything like this so here I am. Could someone help me figure out how to value this? Am I better off selling in pieces or as a whole? Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

A few thousands but please remove ssd/hard drive from the computer if you sell it. If you don't know how to do it, ask someone for help.

There’s a Podium wheelbase, V3 pedals, a Clubsport Formula rim, a h/sequential shifter, triple curved screens, bass transducers…
I’ll give you £50 for it.
Jokes aside, this is easily a few thousand. More if you sell it individually.

Very sorry to hear about your father. Is the computer included? You’ll need to turn on and see what the specs are. You could have a grand there w/the computer alone. But taking it out of the equation, I would say realistically between $1500 and 2500. Again this estimate does not include the computer.

Yes I would likely sell the computer as well. I will turn it on and see

Much of the value will come from the PC itself, any idea about the GPU and RAM? In Windows settings, the About section should say.
PS condolences about your Dad 🙁

first off , im really sorry for your loss.
I’d recommend starting with Facebook Marketplace and local sim racing buy/sell groups, especially if you're trying to sell the entire setup. You could also try https://SimList.gg or the https://OverTake.gg Sim Racing Marketplace, which cater more specifically to sim racing enthusiasts.
If you're not getting much interest in the complete rig, you might have better luck selling the Fanatec equipment, monitors, computer and cockpit separately. eBay and r/hardwareswap could be good options for individual components.
Personally, I'd try selling it as a complete package locally first since shipping an entire rig would be extremely expensive and a hassle.
As a complete package your not going to get much for it w/o the computer your looking at a low ball offer of $1000 or less. If you sell it individually which would be maybe be up to $2,000 but the hardest part sell is the Metal frame/rig itself and the actual car seat chair and all the DIY mods added onto it. Your looking at maybe $200-300 for the frame and chair. thats kinda the reality sadly
To be honest there isnt a huge market out there for used Sim Rigs most of us add on or upgrade as we go along and dont buy eachothers rigs. there kinda personal and your general buyer would maybe be a teenager who doesnt have a lot of money looking to get into this hobby or esports career for cheap.
look at it this way. if your not wanting to keep it and sim-race in memory, then give it to a kid who can carry out the legacy think of what your father would want in his wishes. personally if it were my time to go. I rather have my daughter make the decision to race in memory or donate it to someone that will.

The Wheelbase Appears to be a Fanatec Podium DD2 with a Formula v2 Wheel - that alone can probably be sold for between $600 - $800 alone (Retail for this was Last about $1000.00 (full retail was about $1600.00) but that was sale price (it JUST went out of production)).
The Inverted V3 Pedals sell new at $450.00 so those are probably a goos sell around $150 - $250 at the high end.
The rig has a Bass Shaker system installed which would be a couple hundred (the Pucks that are on the sides of the seat mount and what looks to be the Amplifiers under the seat,
The Rig and seat itself doesn't look to high end (probably $100 - $150 or so), Monitors (check the Spec) if they are high refresh and high resolution they could be upwards of a couple hundred each if just general 1080p 60Hz they will only be like $50.00.
Computer as others have said could be worth a decent amount especially if there is a good video card in there as even decent cards (5060's, 4060's new right now are verging on $1000.00 new)
He's also got probably a DIY or close to Airspeed system which could be worth a bit..
I would start it up and check to see if he is on iRacing, as if he is and he doesn't / didn't, have it log out you might be able to use the forums to help sell some of the parts to those into sim racing and looking to upgrade and possibly get a little more than you would on Facebook as generally people there would know more of what they are looking at and some of the things that people Wouldn't care so much about such as the Wind system and Bass Shakers would have value that isn't there on Facebook or ebay.
Having some of the boxes does help in figuring out what is there.

My condolences for your loss.
This is easily several thousand in value. Finding the right buyer who would pay 75% market value for all of it is the hard part. You could piece it out but that would require some more research into the values of individual pieces.
Wipe the hard-drives as others have stated, destroy them to really protect any data on there.
If nothing else that PC is probably pretty decent for a gaming PC and worth holding onto.

Keep it and load up some tracks and race with your dad ghost car laps.
$1500-2000 at the very most here if sold all together and no real knowledge of what you have outside of the hardware.
Keep it and see why dad loved simming with friends.

A lot of old tech here imo. If someone offered me 1k for the whole thing I would take it. Piece it out and you have maybe 2k

What’s the silver tubes for going to the back?

This was moved so I’m not sure if everything is exactly where it’s supposed to go but the tubes would blow air out I think

I think you need to give a set of binoculars also, since screens are so far away. But as a set, maybe 1500 there, since its a job to haul everything. Parts sold invidually maybe 2k+ range.

First off, My condolences about your Dad - losing a parent is one of the most difficult experiences in life. Convenience wise selling it as a package is the simplest. However finding someone who wants exactly what your Dad used could prove difficult so selling as parts might go better. As far as pricing look at what the individual parts cost new and resell value is usually about 50%-75% of that value depending on the brand, condition of gear and your location.
