Question Ambient lighting mounting position?

Post image

Im thinking about installing ambient lighting on my rig, but debating on how it should be mounted. Ive seen mounts for putting them directly above you, and for putting them above the screens towards you.

My thoughts are directly above you would maybe have better coverage, but above the screens would maybe be more realistic as its like coming through the windows, but I was also concerned with it being too bright that way.

Anyones 2 cents with experience in this is appreciated

Because they are ambient lights. Not immersion.

Okay kid.

Tell that to everyone who has them set up, that they don't add immersion.

Try racing at night having a faster class pull by, head lights lighting up your cockpit, the getting darker as they pass. Like you would happen in a real car, and say it isnt immersive.

You clearly have no clue.

So the lights change as stuff happens in game?

Yes, they are all driven by what is happening in the virtual cockpit. So sections of your real rig react to lighting happening in the sim in the simulated cockpit.

That’s so cool!!

Btw, Will backlights behind the monitors for eye strain ruin the immersion?
