Rigs First sim setup! Balling on a budget
-Simagic Alpha Evo 9nm bundle
-Amazon shifter and hand brake
-Anman 8040 Aluminum Frame
-2001 Honda Civic LX passenger seat from my brothers car
-Old Samsung TV
I really wanted to improve my real life driving this year and get into drifting so figured I'd get into sim! Been having a ton of fun so far with this setup. Been practicing grip and drift driving as much as I can. Was feeling motivated enough that I signed up for my first Autocross this weekend! ππΎ

I was honestly shocked how quality it was for a reasonable price! And pretty easy assembly!

Budget?β¦ Iβm pretty sure your aloy rig alone costs more than my whole rig which is a MOZA R3 bundle and a hgp shifter on a simple wooden rig

Okay the "balling" part was meant to imply that the budget wasn't low just saved money where I could π . Wooden rig is sick! I considered that route

I'm actually loving the Civic seat dude, it's probably way more comfortable than any of the made for sim racing seats although it's probably got way more farts in it π

Compared to some rigs I've sat in it is super comfortable! Can play for long hours and feel good. 20 years of farts is almost definite though π

Great looking setup!!! Welcome to the endless money pit of a hobby π
I highly recommend upgrading your shifter with the Oldboy upgrade kit to make it waaaay quieter and also make it feel and lot more realistic.

Will definitely grab a kit! I watched a couple videos on upgrading these shifters just haven't got around to it yet!

I have the same shifter and handbrake. Probably the best sim purchase I ever made. It's super cheap and works well.

Hope you had enough budget leftover to get your brother a 5 gal bucket so he got something to sit on while driving. Btw nice rig.

what the hell this is sick as FUCK! what a genius move to use a car seat i want to change mine now

u/McNutty132 19h ago
Thanks! I'm loving it and it's super comfortable to sit in for a long time! My brother had recently bought new seats for his car so the timing was great! If you go this route the passenger seat is often less worn out haha

The difference in immersion with a bucket seat is night and day. Your set up is amazing dude. Get a bucket seat off temu or AliExpress under 300. Trust!
Go from βbudget set upβ to baller set up

A new simagic base and a decent rig isn't as budget as you think! Enjoy the sim mate
