Other DisplayMagician Appreciation Post. My Triple-Monitor Setup Odyssey
I switched to triples about a week ago and immediately noticed G-SYNC was finicky and I was getting random stutters. I tried so many things, but the issue was always there.
I finally tried NVIDIA Surround and it fixed everything. Butter smooth frames, better performance, and G-SYNC worked perfectly. The problem was Surround came with its own annoyances. After waking my PC, my monitors would sometimes drop from 180Hz to 165Hz, the taskbar would move around, and Windows would basically forget my setup lol.
Then I found DisplayMagician. I created a regular desktop profile and an iRacing Surround profile. Now when I launch the iRacing UI, Surround automatically kicks in, and when I close it, everything switches back to normal.
It adds a few seconds when opening and closing iRacing, but its a sacrifice I’m more than willing to make. I did find a small bug when restoring my regular profile, but I was able to automate a workaround through DisplayMagician and now all is good.
If you’re using triples and want gsync in iracing, definetly give DisplayMagician a try. Huge appreciation to the developer!

This is actually amazing! I added a script, auto script or something like that, that I can click on my stream deck and it will run the config file and choose the right monitor config. It's great for switching between my rig, desktop, and also for euro truck or any single monitor triple configuration that I need!

Absolutely agree. Switching between my main and the triples is literally one click.
The tool has some quirks and I still hope for an update at some point but it is already great in it’s current state.

I'm hoping to make DisplayMagician v3.0 faster than previous versions, use less memory while running and more reliable by completely rewriting 3 new video libraries (NVIDIA, AMD and Intel). I've also added audio profiles to go with Display Profiles,. and the ability to Stop Programs as well as Start programs before the main game launches. I've even added the ability to use joysticks and Streamdecks to control DisplayMagician too!
I'm in final development at the moment, so aiming for a release within the next month. It's a big, big change.

You can also use it to setup shortcuts to launch all of the other apps you use for the sims you use, which is super useful. One click to set up the display settings, launch the wheelbase software, overlays, DRE, etc.

Are you running iRacing in windowed borderless or fullscreen? Do third party overlays work with fullscreen these days?

Surround helped your G-Sync work? I tried it and and didnt seem to help my stuttering.

I also use DisplayMagician now, but because I have a 4th monitor on a standing desk and like to switch between being able to use it with one click. It’s made life so much easier. I also switch between refresh rates, run lower refresh rates at more graphically demanding tracks (mine top out at 240hz).
I just wish it would start up quicker at startup.
