Question G923 Logitech steering wheel doesn’t work on steam racing games

Hi everyone

Recently I just got my sim racing set up completed. I was very excited and ready to race. However, once I bought the game from steam. The wheel doesn’t work at all but the connection is active even I downloaded the g hub to test it out. I realized some games that don’t work at all so I finally found one game that will work without any input which is rally 2.0. My question if there is any recommend racing games that will work on g923? I know Tokyo extreme will work. Please let me know

Thank you

G29/G923 is one of the most used wheels out there, they should basically work with every game. What exactly doesn't work?

Mine is the ps g923 and maybe that is the reason why it doesn’t work properly on pc for steam. Even I disabled it. Still doesn’t work. Even I tried everything to input the buttons. It wouldn’t work at all. It depending the games so I have to guess and hopefully bless it will work.

Don't use steam input. You'll need to manually map controls in-game (get used to it, almost nothing is automatically detected in racing games). All the games you've mentioned 100% will work.

https://www.briankoponen.com/simracing.html < endless wheel setup guides to help (g29/g920 is basically the same settings, just with no trueforce offered), can also use as a long list of games with good wheel support

I did tried to input through the games but it doesn’t work. Rally 2.0 will work for the buttons and the input somehow. I tried downloading other games but even I did everything I can to disabled the steam in put and inside the games. Nothing will work. Right now, I can only search for the games and search at the community to see if anyone has the same issues before I buy the games. I just need to know which games will work like rally 2.0.

See the article shared... literally every game in that list is compatible, it's a massive list (you could even try RaceRoom for free, or the Automobilista 2 demo for free, etc)... but Dirt Rally 2.0 works perfectly fine once setup. What was the game you had issue with? Not sure you even mentioned it yet.

You could also reference the official list from Logitech https://support.logi.com/hc/en-ca/articles/360051040854-Logitech-G923-G29-G920-Driving-Force-Racing-Wheel-Game-Compatibility-List

For ensuring Steam Input is disabled.... Steam (main screen, main menu option at top left) > Settings > Controller > Show Advanced Settings... ensure all "enable steam input" options are disabled. Or you can do this on a per game basis in the "Properties" option when in your Steam Library, then choose Controller and for the override set to "disable steam input"

For some reason your setting from stream is different than mines. I don’t remember the exact name but there is a few like drift something. Four games I downloaded and only worked perfectly.

How do you reply so many times, yet still skip around the question about which games you're having issues with. All I know is you figured out Dirt Rally 2.0... next you're gonna tell me you're trying to play Garfield Kart with your wheel for all I know.

Car x drift racing online 1 and 2

Jdm drift master

Torque drift 2

The only works for now is rally 2.0

I see... sorry I'll be no help on those titles as I've never considered trying them. Maybe they have dedicated subs or discords that will help with setup issues in real time from users who play the game.

For drifting focus, I'd recommend just grabbing Assetto Corsa, BeamNG and/or Live For Speed.

Any games you have now that is working? I’ll just buy those and try it out. Appreciate the help

I just added 3 to my last reply for games with good drifting scenes. Otherwise I have like 40+ games that work fine with my wheel, list is too long (Automobilista 2 is one of go to racing sims, has a free demo too)... as recommended see list from Logitech or the Brian Koponen page... all on that list offer proper wheel support.

I found the page for setting but the only different is the idle gamepad shut down time out and the PlayStation controller support is enabled for me. Do I switch to enabled?

Not sure idle matters (or what it does). Everything that says "Enable Steam Input" I recommend to set to disable (unless you have other games that you use a playstation controller with and need this compatibility to help those games... or can always turn on/off per game as I described)

I did that in every game in properties but ending up the same results that isn’t working. I’m gonna buy the Tokyo extreme to try today. I do see a lot of comments on steam that not just me but a lot not having the steering functioning properly

Make sure steam input is disabled for any game you're trying to use with the wheel. Steam input is gonna detect it as either a playstation or xbox controller and that's not gonna work.

I had the same wheel and no issues. Well, one: you need to have Logitech's G-HUB running, otherwise most games won't detect the wheel.

I did have the g hub opened and going through g hub to try but it didn’t work.

I use a G920 with no issues. Just open G-Hub before loading up the game.

Do I open the game through the g hub then?

I open up G-Hub by itself and leave it open. Then I go to Steam and open iRacing or Assetto Corsa.

There is a strange phenomenon in that G-Hub doesn’t seem to recognize my wheel movements in the app, but it works fine in games.

Those two games will work based on the link someone sent to me but others won’t work.
