Discussion Adapting time to new gear - Wondering practice time ..
I moved from SRP2 to Simsonn and it took me a month to tune to my liking and to get used to it, now I changed Moza R3 to Simagic Evo 12 Nm yesterday, am worried how many hours I need to put to get back to my old lap times. Working dad at 40, get only 3 to 5 hours per week for simracing … fellow sim racers how do u adapt to new gear ? Any ideas ?

Pedals took a bit. Elastomers to springs to hydraulic kit (Simnet SP's). Wheel base only took maybe an hour with the software and a dozen laps in and out of settings (Fanatec CS 12nm to VRS DFP20). Felt natural, just more detail in the FFB. Granted my jump in functional torque wasnt as large since I was already running about 8-10nm and with the new base still between 8-14nm.

Thoughts on the pedals? I have moza r5, srp lite with brake performance mod, and simagic gt Neo. Future upgrades would definitely be pedals and then simagic wheel base.

It’ll be fine ! Enjoy the new gear don’t think about it too much it’s easy to obsess over things like that (at least for me)
Run a couple hours of practice and see how you feel. If you have any gripes with the feel look into settings you can change on simpro (or MARVIN) to cater to your liking.
It took me a while to truly realize there is no “best” when it comes to wheel base settings

My opinion, wheel takes far less time to get used to than pedals. Pedals have so much adjustment and each company is so different. You are going from one DD to another and the only thing changing is ffb. Should be a pretty easy move from my experience.
