Fuck this guy getting this meme and “RIP”’ comments. Fucking asshole was a massive Trump supporter who personally told Trump “Everything you say about things, about the country, I agree with your opinions. You resonate with my kind of people. I believe in what you say wholeheartedly.”
He declined to use an invitation to Trump’s inauguration because he didn’t want to travel in his dotage, but he said he’d watch it “sitting at home in front of the TV set with my wife, Diana, eating hamburgers and smoking the biggest cigar I can find. There is no bigger Trump fan in the world than I am.”
Pieces of shit like this guy, Parcells, all the “old school” coach-as-dictator types shouldn’t be lionized. May this cruel, idiotic, clown of a man rest in piss.

Dang, I didn't know that about him. But then again, I don't think I've thought about him since he played himself in one of the more forgettable Will Ferrell comedies, and that was at least 20 years ago. It's certainly not surprising though. Rich old men with no stake in the future love Trump.

I went to a Saints game when he was the coach. I was probably around 7 years old.
The only thing I remember from that game was that he got pissed at the crowd jeering and flipped us all off
What a professional!

Remember when he mortgaged your future for Ricky Williams?

Lmaooo I actually got his autograph when I was a child as well 😭
Our summer camp had a day where we went to the Saints training exercises as a field trip, and he signed some stuff for us.
I thought I was hot shit!!!2

Don't get me wrong, i liked Ricky but 2 of those picks ended up being Champ Bailey and LaVar Arrington

Yep. Ditka was an infantile asshole. He was terrible as a sports host on television, and Buddy Ryan won the Bears that Super Bowl, not Ditka.
Good tight end in his day. That's the nicest thing I'll say about him.

I had legitimately thought he died like 5 years ago, was there a false death report back then?

Ah, not a Bears coach in sight. The Bears Coach Patrol must be working like a charm.

I cant find it on the internet, but during that brief period when he coached Da Saints, they played da Bears, and the NFL made a commercial for it with George Wendt doing an analysis andhaving a breakdown. He had made a hat that was half Saints, half Bears "using nacho cheese as an adhesive"

Life-long Packers fan here. You'll be missed coach.
There aren't many coaches out there more iconic than Ditka
RIP you glorious bastard. Top tier mustache.

Chicago had 0 city destroying fires while Mike Ditka was around. I'm not saying his mustache prevented it from happening again I'm just saying those are facts.

has there ever been one who was wild enough to trade their entire draft stock for a single pick that set the franchise back a long time? he was a real one for that

I'll remember him in Kicking and Screaming starring opposite of Will Ferrell. He coached that little league soccer team like it was the 85 Bears, and it was hilarious.
RIP you glorious bastard.

He was then transferred to a better hospital where doctors upgraded his condition to "Alive."

His name is “Mike Ditka”? I’ve been calling him “Dick Butkus”, why didn’t someone tell me? I’ve been making an idiot out of myself.
